Why won't apple let me post my question?

With due respect, ma'am... there are two filters

1. a WORD list based on the 7 words you can't say on TV (a bunch a variations on that theme) that get part of the word replaced by asterisks
2. A list of words, phrases, "strings" & special characters that trigger an error message

I just "assumed" that the poster had discovered samsung was a word - I have to remember to test

I agree with the cranky part... it seems that certain "threads" get "ill" - the " . " posts (I call 'em Phantom Posts)

That is not the behavior the poster described. They said there was no error message.

Those prohibited words and strings do not include the names of competitors. They are structured, primarily, to prevent certain kinds of spam, such as the Indian psychic spam. An average user is very unlikely to run afoul of them as the words and strings are not related, in most cases, to technical support question.

Samsung, Samsung Galaxy, Windows, Microsoft, HTC, Android, Nokia.
