I have just downloaded El Capitan and new emails that I write cannot be sent.they just flash on and off the screen. How can I fix this problem?

I have just downloaded el Capitan to my MacBook Pro. Any messages I write cannot be sent; they just flash on and off the screen. Mail downloads normally.

Hello again 4muriel,

Don't forget that you can always get assistance directly from Apple itself. (See https://www.apple.com/support/contact/). They have in-person support at Apple Stores and phone support technicians can connect to your machine remotely. If your machine is out of warranty, you might have to pay for that though. You can also contact an Apple Authorized Repair Centre for support (See https://locate.apple.com/ca/en/). Again though, I don't know what the terms are. This is the downside of those free operating system upgrades. It isn't really free if you have to pay money to get it working.
