Can't export/save document in pages randomly

Hi,

I tried a lot of things because this error has occured for other users as well.

Resetting my password, resetting the write/read values for my Mac, reinstalling my pages, etc.

Sometimes I can save a document. The last time it worked on my dropbox, but only ONCE. Now I can't export this file or save a duplicate for it at any destination on my Mac. What's going on?

Best regards and thanks in advance,

Friedrich

You should understand that no version of Pages is a supported document format on Dropbox, according to their own supported files documentation. There is no guarantee by them that you can save Pages documents to Dropbox unproblematically.

I have never had read/write issues with any version of Pages '09 or Pages v5 on any implementation of OS X. I have never reset passwords, never altered any read/write settings, and do not use Dropbox. My documents are predominantly saved on the local boot drive, or occasionally in iCloud. Periodically, Pages v5 (pick a release) will tell me it cannot open a document it saved yesterday, but that is manageable.

When you attempt to save or duplicate that document, is it sitting in Dropbox, or on your local boot drive?

This has absolutely nothing to do with dropbox. It was just a try if I can save my Documents there. So lets forget about dropbox. It's about a well known error that the user randomly has no write permissions (which is completely ******** because 3 seconds before the user DID have write permissions) on ANY location on the macbook.

See here:

Pages save function not working/ "permission denied"

I don't get why apple does not fix this.
