MacBook 12 Win 10 Power Issues

A week ago got a Macbook 12" 128Gb, installed El Capitan, Boot Camp 6 and Windows 10 in a clean installation.

Everything has been OK BUT.... 8 out of 10 times when I connect the power source (USB-C) the computer freezes. I have waited for 15 min and nothing.

The only way to restore it is to shut it down holding the power button for 10 sec. and then restarting it a few times until everything loads up.

It seems that there is something related to the drivers, how they are loaded...any clues?

Hi Loner T,

I have been following such thread since November when i first tried to install W10. From my understanding there are two solutions:

1. Delete AppleSSD.sys from drivers folder in the USB created by bootcamp and try to install. Windows will use default driver and install successfully.

2. Replace AppleSSD.sys with an older version of bootcamp 5.x and try to install. Windows will use old driver and install successfully.

According to thread, those solutions work for macbook air and macbook pro, but in my case (new macbook 12 inch) it does not work, probably due to newer SSD hardware (disk itself or controller) that is not supported either in the default Windows 10 driver or in the older bootcamp 5.x driver.

I have also tried to install without bootcamp support (via EFI boot) but no luck. Maybe it is important to note that my macbook has the 512 GB SSD.

Thanks for your time.

I have the exact same issue with applessd.sys, with Macbook retina 12 inch early 2010 and 512 GB SSD. From the threads being posted (and the apparently painlessness with most Macbook users) it seems like the 512 GB is the culprit. Except that I have not experienced the 'silent update' and all the latest drivers (as of May 2016) still give me the same issue.

It is still unresolved!! 😢
