Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I set the time zone to what you indicated. The problem seems to be that although iSync gives as status as to applying the changes, no iCal data actually gets written to the phone. Must be a software change.

Not at all upset. Just trying to be helpful Go to
More Options in iSync and set the time zone to
Iceloand/GMT. That works for resetting Calendars on
my V325. Should work for you unless they changed the
software. Make sure you don't just do a sync - that
will mess things up.

Here we go again. This should work for the V325i
also:

First, to get the V325 to be "seen" by iSync, you
will have to install the right phoneplugin. You can
get it from Dr. Shenoy's web site:
http://prashant.shenoy.biz/Software.html. Put the
plugin in both Libraries – the hard disc lib and your
Users lib in a new folder called “PhonePlugins”. I
didn’t find out which takes preference.

Once the phone is recognized, use this longish
workaround that I stumbled on in trying to get things
to sync with iSync (Contacts sync fine):

Resetting the calendar on the MOTO V325

1. Go to iCal and Select “America/New York” time zone
– top R. BACKUP DATA BASE!! Close iCal.
2. Open iSync, make sure settings are ok: Under “More
Options”, select “Don’t synchronize events prior to:
2 weeks (or what you want)”. Check “Don’t
synchronize events after: One year (or what you
want). Set “Events Time Zone: Atlantic/Reykjavik”.
Select “Work” calendar only in iSync.
. Select the V325 icon in iSync.
4. Under “Devices” menu, select “Reset Device…”
5. Shut down iSync immediately after resetting to
prevent accidental automatic sync of phone and iCal.
Better, deselect Calendars in iSync.

6. Contacts sync fine to the V325 address book –
check Contacts: sync Cell Phone; More Options “Only
sync contacts with phone numbers” and “Sync E-mail
addresses”. Or you can include Contacts when you
“Reset Device…”

Would someone be able to forward to me the plug in mentioned? I was not able to download it from the web site for some reason. Thanks.

I followed the above directions, and I have not gotten it to work. Isync will not regonize the phone. Ihave isync 2.3, os x 10.4.8 and a Radio shack usb cord that says it is compatible with canon and sony. I am getting a "USB Low Power" notice when I plug the phone in. (The phone eis fully charged). Is it safe to assumee that the USB cord is the problem?

I tried using ron4mac's plugin but after I installed it iSync wouldn't even open. It tells me that the plugon won't work with my version of iCal which is 2.3. Any have any ideas on this?

Apple really should do a better job of keeping the iSync support up to date. The V325i is Verizon's bread and butter phone now and there is zero support for it.

Please disregard my previous post. I was able to get the plugin to work 🙂 My problem was that I had manually edited the MetaClasses.plist file AND I installed the plugin. I think there was a conflict between the two. I reverted back to the unedited MetaClasses and the plugin started working!

Sync via Bluetooth does work with this phone. I am using Mac OS X 10.4.8 and I have the Verizon version of the v325i.

1. Install the third-party PhonePlugin referenced earlier in this thread.
2. On the phone, go to Menu > Settings & Tools > Bluetooth > Setup. Make sure that power is on and the phone is named.
3. On the phone, go to Menu > Settings & Tools > Bluetooth > Find Me.
4. On the Mac, go to System Prefereces > Bluetooth > Settings. Make sure that Bluetooth is On and the "Discoverable" box is checked.
5. On the Mac, go to System Prefereces > Bluetooth > Devices. Click "Set Up New Device". Follow each step of the assistant, and pair with your phone by entering the PIN provided.
6. In the final panel of the assistant, check the box to "Set up iSync to transfer contacts and events. Complete the assistant.

iSync will launch and the phone will be added as a device. Contacts sync easily. Sync of iCal events requires some time zone shifting as noted earlier in this thread.

I set this up via Bluetooth on two Mac Books running 10.4.8. In one case, the phone was not being added to the iSync device list in step 6. I repaired file permissions on the computer using Disk Utility, repeated the steps, and it worked correctly.

I've installed the plugin described above, but the V325i isn't detected when connected with a USB cable. I installed both in my $HOME/Library/PhonePlugins and /Library/PhonePlugins directories.

It shows up in the System Profiler as Motorola A41x/V32x.

The description of the plugin says it's for iSync 2.3, but the current is Version 2.4 (501.2).

Is there a newer version of the plugin or some other way to make this work?
