Hi Eerk

As reported here and other threads, Microsoft Exchange calendar seems to be causing this issue. Do you have Exchange linked to your Calendar?

On page 2 Graf Z reports that deleting then reinstalling the Exchange seems to fix the issue. Others are confirming it also worked for them. Assuming this to still be true.

A test is to use a clean user account on Mac that does not have Exchange tied to it, then resize Calendar and Quit. Reopening it should be in last "state" as when you closed it. This means it is not a "native" problem to Mac OS.

If the problem does not reappear after deleting Exchange and then re-installing, then this suggests at least 2 possibilities to me. The first is that the Exchange preferences (plist), which dictates things like screen sizes was poorly written and had a default screen size, or more likely, that MS rewrote the app to fix this bug and when Exchange is reinstalled, you are getting the new code.

You could try to delete the Exchange preference (plist) files and see if that works. If not then you would need to try deleting Exchange altogether, then I would recommend you restart your Mac, then reinstall Exchange.

Please let us know if this works for you, adds to the community knowledge base.

Hope this helps, Greg

As of 01 MAY, I have raised a case with Apple support which did a lot of troubleshooting withe me and raised a ticket with engineering on this issue. For me, it does seem related to Exchange as when I disable my Office 365 calendars the issue does not appear.

As a temp workaround, the tech advised if I click the "Calendars" button in iCal and hide the calendar listing, a resize does work even when quitting and relaunching the app. This did work for me.
