Why won't music selected play right away instead of being asked to 'Play'or 'Cancel' beforehand?

When I click on a tune listed in my library I always get a prompt asking me if I want to Play or Cancel. This has never been the case before. How can this be removed?..........Can anybody here rescue me?

Can you share a screenshot of the prompt? I don't recognize any common iTunes behavior from your description.

(BTW, posting a question multiple times doesn't help to get answers ...)
