iphone 6 wifi issue

In Settings my iphone 6 shows that it's connected to my new WIFI network but it isn't. When I restart my phone I get a flash of wifi icon and then it drops back onto my external network. The phone has connected successfully to another WIFI network. My MacBook Pro and my iPad Mini connect to the WIFI without a problem. Is this a problem with my phone or with the router?

Thanks in advance

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2

If it connects to other networks it may be the router. As a simple first step try rebooting the router. Remove all power for about 15 seconds.
