Upgraded to 12.3.2.35 and now iTunes Store screens flashes

I just upgraded to iTunes 12.3.2.35 and now the iTunes Store screen flashes black. It happens 1 to 2 times per second, only the content portion of the screen (not the menu bar, etc.)

I've tried rebooting, diagnostics, etc. Does anyone have a fix?

This is my diagnostics screen:

Actually it's happening on all types of graphics cards.

Intel HD Graphics (2 different types)

AMD Radeon (2 different types)

Nvidia (GeForce 9800 GTX)

Win 7 Home/Professional 32/64 bit

Resolutions (Horizontal) 1366, 1920, 2044

Just another effed up iTunes updated I guess. Nothing new there. Something always gets screwed up, like Logitech Media keys which are screwed up since 12.0 and not for the first time.

Does the iTunes Store screen still flicker with any/all of these graphics cards if you've reinstalled iTunes 12.3.2.35 using the re-built installer that Apple pushed out on Dec 23/24? If you haven't tested this, it really is pointless posting comments about an issue that was introduced in the initial (Dec. 9) build of the 12.3.2.35 installers but from all confirmed reports is fixed by installing the re-built version.

"why wasn't the version # changed?"

That's a good question, since it flies in the face of all best practice for software configuration management. I think that there are a couple of clues ...

  • someone reported here that the original 12.3.2.35 had been built with one incorrect component, so re-building it with the right one could be seen as just making 12.3.2.35 as it was "intended to be".
  • the timing the issue with respect to the holidays may have precluded execution of a full QA cycle for a genuine new build - once the problem was reported and confirmed widely (somewhere around December 18) I'm sure that Apple's marketing people were prepared to override engineering to get a working version of iTunes available before Christmas Day. Past history suggests that Apple takes around 3 weeks to push out a patch build, which in this case would have ended up not happening until today ...

"This has been happening for weeks on my machine and I see from this thread that I am not alone."

Shame you didn't read through the thread to see that the problem with flashing/flickering of the Store screen has been fixed, as of more than a week ago. Just re-download iTunes 12.3.2.35 from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install over the initial (Dec. 9) version. There is a second - possibly related - issue that affects iTunes' display on very high resolution monitors - this first appeared in 12.3.1 and has not yet been fixed, though it can be mitigated by reducing the size of the iTunes window.
