Upgraded to 12.3.2.35 and now iTunes Store screens flashes

I just upgraded to iTunes 12.3.2.35 and now the iTunes Store screen flashes black. It happens 1 to 2 times per second, only the content portion of the screen (not the menu bar, etc.)

I've tried rebooting, diagnostics, etc. Does anyone have a fix?

This is my diagnostics screen:

Temporary Solution: On high resolution monitors more than 2048 pixels wide, the iTunes window needs to be shrunk to a smaller size. Do not run maximized. Shrink the iTunes window until the Store renders properly.

This appears to be a rendering issue with higher resolution monitors.

My current resolution is 2560x1440, Windows 10 Pro, iTunes 12.3.2.35. iTunes Store and the New Tab will properly display until an iTunes resolution of about 2048 pixels wide. Anything wider than that, the windows starts going crazy.

I think it has to do with the "Highlight" album and artist selections at the top of the browser. I think it can't draw correctly past 2048 pixels. And since that's a base 2 number (2^11), it's probably a programming error within the iTunes browser.

I spoke to a "Michele" through Apple Support and she documented everything I found and marked it as a bug.

We have the same problem.

Installed the latest iTunes update yesterday 12.3.2.35 and now, whenever we run up iTunes and go into the iTunes Store, the screen flickers a couple of times a second on average. If we click out of the iTunes Store into another area of iTunes, the screen stops flickering.

iTunes Store was working fine prior to the update.

We are running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, 32 bit under an Intel core 2 duo chipset. 4GB Ram.

Our video card is an AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series so we updated the driver on that to 15.200.1062.1004 but no change.

Some users report re-sizing the window but we are only on a 21 or 24 inch display at 1920 x 1080. However, we tried two things: 1) Resizing the iTunes Store window. No change. and 2) Dropping the resolution to 1600 x 1200. No change.

The problem clearly is some sort of incompatibility but we don't know what.

If anyone can help solve it, thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,

I have same problem with flickering screen since 12.3.2 update. I have Windows 10 and have even reinstalled Windows 10 (don't go there) and tried everything that Windows suggests: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-10/troubleshoot-screen-flickering

I have even unchecked "use hardware acceleration when available" on Firefox but nothing has worked. iTunes support (sent an email) suggest I ring them and pay for some advice. Fair enough but I am not going to pursue that because everything was fine until this update and the iTunes screen started flickering before I reinstalled Windows 10.

No luck for me (original poster). My screen resolution is only 1280x1024. I've made the iTunes store window as small as I can and it still flashes black.

Apple quality continues to fall - good testing would have caught this. Worked perfectly prior to upgrade.

Less excited about my new Christmas Apple device now since I have to use flashy iTunes.

I'm also seeing this issue running 64-bit iTunes 12.3.2.35 on Windows 10 Home on an HP Stream 13. Changing the size of the iTunes window has not helped. My resolution is set at 1366x768, which is the recommended setting for my PC and did not cause any issues in previous versions of iTunes. I haven't restarted my machine since the original restart that was required to finish the iTunes installation but I don't believe that it would have any impact.

Has anyone been able to fix this issue, even temporarily?

Hi all

No - there appears to be no workarounds for this issue and from the posts so far it is happening under various versions of Windows (7, 8 and 10), 32 bit and 64 bit, different graphics cards, different size monitors and different resolutions. Although one user (with a big monitor and very high resolution) appears to have found a workaround by reducing their iTunes window size, other users with smaller screens and resolutions which are more common have not found that to work.

All people with the issue report no problem with the previous version of iTunes store.

In conclusion this is a big bug in iTunes 12.3.2.35 and we hope Apple is working on it. A shame they have not responded to this thread although I now think there are other threads running a similar topic. Not sure if they've had a response.

Thanks
