After updating to 9.2 when I open my music app there's nothing but a picture of a girl listening to music. I can't listen to my music!! WTH? No access to my library. Please help.

I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS9.2 and now when I open the music app I can't access my library. It's only a picture of a girl listening to music with apple music written on it. There's no menu bar, no options or buttons to navigate to artists or music. It's so frustrating. How do I solve this? Thanks!

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2

Hello jinthereddevil,

If I understand correctly you are unable to get past the initial splash screen advertising Apple Music. If there is not a link that says Go to My Music under the pink button to join Apple Music I would start by quitting the Music app:

Force an app to close in iOS

1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

That should refresh the app and allow you to continue. If not you can also disable Apple Music in your Settings:

Go to Settings > Music...

Show Apple Music: Apple Music members can show or hide Apple Music content. To hide the For You and New buttons, turn off Show Apple Music.

From: Music settings

Same problem. Every day I've that stupid girl spamming me to upgrade to Apple Music. I have my own music and just wnat to play it. Instead I'm being spammed with Apple's spamware because they're in some sort of corporate battle with Google music or spotify or something.

Can we downgrade to an Apple music player that does not have this stupid ad? I just want to use the product I paid for, not have to click off an ad every day for the rest of my life! I hate software designed by lawyers.

Had the same issue. Been fiddling with it for days and found a work around -

Go to settings - music - join Apple Music. --- It will go right to what looks like the original iTunes page (tabs at the bottom, artists, recently added, etc) from there, when you close the app (double click the button and swipe it away) then reopen the app like before, the picture with the girl will come back and now you will see text below it like Mccgsm says. You chose either free 3 month subscription or go to My Music. Since then, it doesn't seem to go back to that girl. (tried twice, so far haven't seen her again)

that takes you you to the same picture but now you have options.

EEither join Apple Music (which I didn't bother with)

or go to my music

If anyone is having the issue still with no resolve try this. (Note: This will only work with devices that have the 3D touch capability)

1.) Go to your home screen and find the music app

2.) Do the 3D touch on the app which will bring up a mini menu

3.) Click on search and wala

4.) Go to your music and verify your music is shown

5.) close the app and re-open

6.) App should open with no more issues

I tried all other resolutions and just stumbled upon the 3D touch by accident and it worked for me, I have the 6s Plus with the latest firmware should work for everyone hopefully. 🙂

I've just come up against the same problem - trying to get to My Music only to find myself faced with the advertising picture and no way to get rid of it. Clicking on Go to My Music made no difference, however many times I tried. It's an absolutely revolting trick on the part of Apple to force you to start the trial of Apple Music, which is the only workable option on the screen. Having read the remedies here, for which thanks, I've now managed to get rid of the expletive thing, and just have to pray that it won't come back, which I see it has done for some people. But it's completely wrong to for us to have to search for ways to get round this Apple ad instead of being able to dismiss it the moment it appears. And just let me add that in many years of membership of this community, this is the first time I've written anything here in anger, but that's what this trick provokes.

A solution possible :

Settings -> Music -> Switch off "Show Apple Music".

Disable all network conections.

Run Music ( normally we will see your musics and not the ads).

Sign out your account tappping the icon on the top.

Close the app.

Enable your network conection.

Run again Music.

Restart the app.

And we will not see the ads even if you switch on "Show Apple Music" in Settings.

It works for me. I hope for you too.

Hello,

I am having pretty much the same issue as everyone here and it has happened before. However, this time my phone has decided to delete all of my music on the phone so I have nothing left at all.

I was getting the splash screen with the girl listening to headphones, when this has happened before I usually restart my phone, switch apple music on and off and it gets rid of it, much like what everyone else has done or suggested here.

I was listening to music on my phone fine yesterday, all my locally stored music was available as were some videos.

Today I open up iTunes store to look for something, then go back to my music to listen to some. All I had access to is my iTunes purchases at first. When I clicked on show only local music there was nothing to be seen. Reset my phone as I assumed it was like the same Apple Music issues I've had before, and I start getting the splash screen. Tried a few other times and eventually got back into my music, however it was the same as before - only iTunes purchases can be seen.

Decided to check my storage and my phone is practically empty. There is no storage options for Music or Videos like there is for Photos, Messages and other apps.Everything is gone it seems. Apple Music without prompting or without warning has delete everything locally stored on my phone and continues to insist that I join Apple Music to listen to music or buy from iTunes.

To say I'm annoyed is an understatement. I don't have access to my home computer for another week so can't do any syncing or recovering. I can get on Wifi but that's it, no network or anything.

I can't see any way of fixing this, and reading other responses on various forums it sounds like there aren't many people suffering from the same issue either.

This is exactly the issue i have. I am extremely ****** off. I spent 3 hours last night playing around with it only to also find that i cant back up my phone (5c) anymore either. ( click backup and nothing happens) . Ive spent another 3 hours on it tonight. chatted with apple - who couldnt help and in the end said well give you a call at 6am tomorrow. Uh - no.

Im away from my Mac until, Monday and cannot verify certain purchases but my purchases look incorrect as well and only go back 1 year. Now i have to go back manually through bank statements to verify purchases for proof.

Oh i did join apple Musioc for about 3 months but turnwd it off in january as i couldnt see any benefit for $12 a month
