After updating to 9.2 when I open my music app there's nothing but a picture of a girl listening to music. I can't listen to my music!! WTH? No access to my library. Please help.

I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS9.2 and now when I open the music app I can't access my library. It's only a picture of a girl listening to music with apple music written on it. There's no menu bar, no options or buttons to navigate to artists or music. It's so frustrating. How do I solve this? Thanks!

Hello jinthereddevil,

If I understand correctly you are unable to get past the initial splash screen advertising Apple Music. If there is not a link that says Go to My Music under the pink button to join Apple Music I would start by quitting the Music app:

Force an app to close in iOS

1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

That should refresh the app and allow you to continue. If not you can also disable Apple Music in your Settings:

Go to Settings > Music...

Show Apple Music: Apple Music members can show or hide Apple Music content. To hide the For You and New buttons, turn off Show Apple Music.

From: Music settings

I have not updated to 9.2 and I'm getting the locked Music screen with a (very dark) picture of a girl with headphones. I've tried ALL the suggestions, (thank you to ALL) except to wait until the morning.... I can access my Music if I go to the iTunes Store, select More, then Purchased, then Music, under the All banner. If this were not the case, I'd be more annoyed. Here's hoping it's a server problem.

If anyone is having the issue still with no resolve try this. (Note: This will only work with devices that have the 3D touch capability)

1.) Go to your home screen and find the music app

2.) Do the 3D touch on the app which will bring up a mini menu

3.) Click on search and wala

4.) Go to your music and verify your music is shown

5.) close the app and re-open

6.) App should open with no more issues

I tried all other resolutions and just stumbled upon the 3D touch by accident and it worked for me, I have the 6s Plus with the latest firmware should work for everyone hopefully. 🙂

I can't believe this actually just worked! I've been struggling with this problem for 2 days and had tried everything to fix it. When I opened music and the image of the woman listening to music came up I tapped the screen several times and a message popped up - start Apple Music 3 month trial or go to my music. Clicked my music and BOOM, it works! Thanks so much!

I've truly had it with Apple. If it's not one IOS download after another, it's one goofy problem after another. This is truly ridiculous. I shouldn't have to spend 5 minutes online look for how to get to MY files of music that I've purchased and downloaded to my phone.

Totally and utterly ridiculous. 15 months of iPhone ownership and I've yet to discover what it is that makes people want one.
