I tried to send a video attachment from an app. The email is now stuck in my outbox (iCloud) on my iPhone and I can't delete it. it won't swipe to show the red delete tab. How do I delete it and stop it 'spinning' away? Thanks

I know this thread is a bit old, but just in case anyone finds it here is the solution:
1) Put the iPhone in Airplane mode
2) Open the Mail app
3) Go to the Outbox
4) Click Edit, click the circle next to the stuck message to select it
5) Click Delete
6) Take the iPhone out of Airplane mode
7) Return to the Mail app. :-)

MMine was same and putting it in airplane mode did not fix problem. I tried something different I put it in airplane mode then powered off my phone when powering it back on left in airplane mode I was able to go into outbox the edit button then allowed me to delete it , good luck
Thank you, and thank Apple for not deleting these correct answers. I have never been so frustrated with an Apple problem like this that I could not figure out. I must be getting old and Apple more complicated to trouble shoot problems. Rebuilding system 9 use to be the hardest problem I ever had to tackle in a prepress room of 8 Macs :-)

I was able to successfully remove the "stuck" email from my "outgoing" box following MikeT1960's suggestions, but had to add a step. I placed the iPhone in airplane mode; powered the iPhone off and turned it back on. Still in airplane mode, I was able to go into the mail app and finally could see an option to highlight the ever-spinning e-mail and delete it from the outgoing box. Great assistance from this thread! Thank you!
Just wanted to say thanks to YOU. I followed Clermont1's reply and it didn't work for me until I got to your reply. At first yours didn't work for me (the "edit" was always greyed out). I left the phone off for about an hour and when I turned it on, the "edit" was there! I've finally been able to delete it. Many, many thanks.
YEA!!!! Been trying to get a straight answer from Apple for weeks! It worked. Now if you can tell me how to delete the Norton Apps that my cable carrier insisted I needed to stop the "dirty" emails I get I've be forever indebted !!!

Does not work for this problem where our "red circle" is actually a "spinning progress 'bar' " that does not stop spinning.
