GPS tracking error

As soon as I upgraded to ios 9.2 last week I noticed that all of my Map Apps were having difficulties pointing to my exact GPS location, be it Waze, Google Maps or even the default Apple Maps. I cannot find a solution to this.

I cannot even seem to downgrade back to ios 9.1.

I use maps everyday! So I could a solution to this problem as soon as possible.

Thanks Apple Community.

I had the same problem with internet. wouldn't connect unless it was literally 2-3 feet from the router. It wasn't the internet connection, it was the phone. it forced me to eat up data which caused additional charges. This whole thing left a bad taste in my mount. I hope you guys all get this resolved or apple fixes it. I just couldn't wait any longer.

this is clearly a software problem. For me, it started after I upgraded to iOS 9. GPS stopped working on BOTH my iPhone and my Ipad. Waze could not find GPS satellites, Apple maps and Google maps were inaccurate and jumped around (I'd be driving on the highway, and the maps would place me on a side road), Uber had my wrong location (twice I was charged by drivers who claimed I wasn't where I was supposed to be). I tried absolutely everything posted on these forums: soft reset, hard reset, toggle Location Services on/off, switch off LTE, etc. I even did a complete data wipe, set up as a new phone, re-installed iOS, and same problem. Amazingly, I spoke to Apple Care via chat, and then went in to the Apple Genius Bar, and they claimed not to be aware of the problem. At the Genius Bar they checked out my iPhone, and it passed all diagnostic tests, but still couldn't get GPS to work properly. The Genius guy shrugged and said it could be an iOS problem, but he didn't know. Thanks. A couple other interesting things I've noticed is that the Bluetooth connection to my car's stereo is shaky -- it will skip when playing music, or sometimes no sound at all for a second or two -- and it can no longer find the wifi in my office (which clearly exists because I can connect to it through my laptop). Given that location services also relies on wifi and bluetooth, I've got to believe these are all connected. I'm about ready to toss my iPhone and get a Samsung despite the cost. As others have mentioned, a smart phone without a working GPS is pretty dumb.

I am scheduled to go in and get mine replaced this afternoon. Though this is the 3rd time Apple support has told me to go into the store and have it replaced, only for me to go into the store and for them to try and troubleshoot it again, get it working for 10 minutes while I'm in the store, and then it quit working on the way home and I have to make a new Genius Bar appointment. Hopefully they replace my phone and the problem is solved. Will keep everyone posted. Also...FYI.... if they have you test the GPS in the store be sure to turn off your Wifi to make sure the GPS works without that.

I am having similar issues with iPhone 6. Started with iOS 9.1 upgrade. and gradually becoming worst. Now after 9.2 upgrade its totally lost the GPS signal... restart, hard reset, reset networking, reinstall apps.. etc etc. i have tried everything. I am trying to look at phone log files see if I can find anything, otherwise i will check with apple store.

Anyone find the solution, please post here.

I went back to the Apple store, and they gave me a new phone, and now everything works perfectly. So maybe it was a hardware problem after all. What I would suggest for anyone who is at his/her wits end is that you restore the phone as a new phone, and then download your apps again from the app store. If, after that, you're still having the same problem, go to Apple and ask for a new phone. There have been problems with the internal antenna reported, and that could have affected GPS, bluetooth, and wifi, as it did in my case.
