GPS tracking error

As soon as I upgraded to ios 9.2 last week I noticed that all of my Map Apps were having difficulties pointing to my exact GPS location, be it Waze, Google Maps or even the default Apple Maps. I cannot find a solution to this.

I cannot even seem to downgrade back to ios 9.1.

I use maps everyday! So I could a solution to this problem as soon as possible.

Thanks Apple Community.

Happy to have finally found this thread. Similar problem to all of you.

iPhone6

iOS 9.2.1

AT&T

- GPS in Waze works 5% of the time

- I downloaded the GPS STATUS app and it shows "good fix".

- Don't have a wifi problem

Since my GPS Status says "good fix" does that mean my hardware is probably ok? I've had no luck figuring this out on the application side.

Should I call Apple?

I just got off of the phone with Apple support. I walked them through the issue and told them that I completed all of the basic trouble shooting tips (reset network settings, turn off and on location settings, hard reset, and full restore of "new phone"). Once you do the full restore and the GPS still doesn't work, they consider that to be a hardware issue and not a software issue.

Obviously, if you have been trying to troubleshoot this issue over the past week, you know it is likely a software issue. What is more logical, several (at least 100?) phones have GPS the same time an ios update goes out, or GPS really breaks at the same time for several people.

I encourage everyone to call Apple support and try to bump this up.

I will be going into the store this afternoon to see what they do. I will update.

I have the same issue here in Turkey

I am using my phone's GPS tracking for activity measurement while I am running and although I have tried every app (runtastic etc) it does not follow my track and it produces faulty results about my speed, pace and actual track. I am using iPhone 6. I have turned it back to the service twice and all they are saying is that they have run all of the diagnostic procedures and it works fine. BUT IT DOES NOT...

I have every possible solution proposed here and NO RESULT...

Really annoying that my GPS isn't working properly suddenly. It worked a couple of weeks ago. But since it totally hasn't worked for absolutely no reason. I had severe issues with the gps showing my location totally off by about a mile in google maps and maps. The reset of setting only fixed my wifi issues but gps in waze doesn't work at all still. Although it seems like google works For some reason. Definitely a software issue than a hardware one. Shouldn't have updated to the new iOS. very disappointing.

hm.. For those that having and issued are you guys are version 9.2.1 (13D20)? or still the 9.2.1 (13D15)? (to check which version you have go to "Settings > General > About > you would see the Version")

I updated my version to 13D20 the GPS that was unstable 80% was working right now is fully 100% working.

Try update to 13D20 and check if the problem still persist.

I updated my iPhone 6 from 9.2.1 13D15 to 9.2.1 13D20.

I really really hoped it would work.

But nope.

Still no GPS fix, Waze, Apple Maps, nada.

TMobile pushed out a carrier update last week too and that did nothing for this issue either.

Any update on what extension # to call or who to talk to at Apple?

I have only had this phone a year, I should NOT have to get a new phone in order to get functioning GPS.

Up until now I have avoided sharing extension as I didn't want undue rush of phone calls to one rep. Its kind of unfair, in my opinion. However, this issue is clearly affecting thousands of users. that coupled with the fact that Apple has so far been lukewarm to accepting/acknowledging the issue let alone fixing or replacing the devices.
