Beats studio wireless keeps disconnecting

I got the beats studio wireless 2.0 for Christmas and so once I listen to music on my iPhone 6 with Bluetooth on and when I want to change a song, it sudden diconnects every time. It also just doesn't happen on the music app, even when I watch videos like on YouTub. So I want to know if there is anyway to fix this issue so I don't keep turning the headphones on and off. Plus I have run iOS 9.2

you are welcome, I just think it is quite poor they have clearly ignored the fact you stated to them that plenty of others have reported the same issue and for most has only occurred since the release of IOS 9.2, if they took it in to serious consideration they would know it is in fact a software fault and not a fault with the individuals headset. They just need to simply take a look at all these reports and run some tests of their own to find what's causing it and release the fix, I do really hope they refund you your charges when they get to the bottom of it.

All the best

Just to add to the volume of people in this thread (only a very small percentage of people who are having the problem will post on a forum, therefore one post from everyone reading this with this same issue will make Apple realize how serious of an issue it really is)

I too am having this issue. iOS 9.2. Beats are 1.1.2 and displaying as fully updated when I know for a fact now that there is 2.1.8 out there.

For a $400 product (I actually think when i bought them they were $500......) I would expect the Bluetooth, it's main selling point, to work.

If anyone finds a way to force-update all of us who have 1.1.2 to 2.1.8 so we can get back to enjoying our headphones that are made of pure awesome, that would be great - thanks. And yes, the headphones are awesome, apple's iOS update broke them.

Thanks for all your posts guys, the more we have posting on here the more Apple will see how much of a problem this is, when I first reported this last week they said they didn't have many reports this happening to others, but now they are monitoring this thread so the more they see the more likely they will do something about it, otherwise it's going to be a the same circle having to send them in for repair/replacement which ends up having a set that do exactly the same thing, I think they are on it now though as I haven't heard back from them in a few days which is a good sign I would take it as I expect they are running tests of their own, they told me beats engineers are working on it but not sure exactly what they are doing as Apple tech didn't have that information.

im just hoping its soon!

Hi Pt-1005 are you sure it is all working ok for you? I updated to 9.2.1 and I still have the issue, when I spoke to Apple they said they wouldn't expect any fixes for it in the next IOS release as it was already in beta and so wouldn't have any further fixes for our issue and would expect if anything there would be an update for the beats headsets themselves, I have ran many tests now and mine still disconnects each and everytime just after a few skips/pausing. I got my hopes up when I saw the IOS update lol, but they haven't actually put any release notes on for 9.2.1 so can't really see what fixes has been included, but like apple tech support said they wouldnt expect anything to fix the issue in an IOS update, I'm just hoping to see an update for the beats updater

cheers all

Hello.

I'm having the same problem as the op mentioned.

A few things I would like to mention...

-I got my beats for Christmas

-had the problem, thought it was an issue w/ the headphones

-returned the headphones, got new beats

-found out I had the same problem

-did some research, found out that I needed to update my beats to 2.1.8

-to my dismay the beats still did not work...

-also, my iPhone 6 is updated to the latest software

Extremely frustrating since I thought the problem would be fixed by getting new beats. Even more frustrating that after updating to v. 2.1.8 that the headphones still have the same problem. Apple please address our problems--this thread has gotten 3000+ views in a few weeks since its creation.

HI Jmera25, when trying to update from the beats website it still uses the beats updater installed on the computer to check for updates and install it, I take it this was the first time you tried to check for updates? you probably have a headset which is able to pull the update, trouble for most even when we try it says it is up to date on 1.1.12 and we are stuck at this point so we can't get it to work.

izaackim - really weird you are reporting to have the issue even after updating successfully to 2.1.8, this is the first report that I know of that the 2.1.8 update hasn't cured it, everybody else who has updated it has fixed it, give apple support a call and report it to them, the more reports and information they have will help them get to the bottom of the issue.

PT-1005 - I'm really happy the IOS 9.2.1 updated fixed your issue, a little surprised as I tried it all on my devices and it still hasn't fixed it for any of them.

I think Apple still need to get on to this issue as its all over the place and obviously not right!

Cheers All

Same here. Studio wireless 2 states that I'm up to date 1.1.2, and iOS 9.2.1 on iPhone 6s. Drops connection every couple of songs. Frankly, this starting to pis me off. I own $400 headphones, the top of the line smart phone $800, all in in apple's ecosystem, subscribed to Apple Music, own an Apple TV,$100, iPad $400, MacBook Pro $1,800, , apple Watch $800.....and I can't listen to 3 consecutive songs. ***. That's all I have to say. You hear me Tim? No? That's because you're using beats and apple devices. They don't work!

This made me laugh, but also mad at Apple at the same time. My Beats actually got worst, I was at the gym and I could simply not skip with the button or the built-in skip button, and it would work normally ("normally"....)

But yesterday my music decided to stop working randomly for no reason, sometimes when I was changing the volume.

Apple please fix this. I wouldn't even care if this was some $60 piece of garbage, but they're $400 for the love of god they should work...

hi there,

I do not think it has anything to do with the paired device, it has to do with the Wireless Beats themselves. I am pairing the Studio wireless with my Nexus 6P device and I am experiencing the same issues. it is also paired with my iPad mini 3 which is running the latest firmware and behaves the same way. I tried to update the device but unfortunately it says it is up to date (1.1.2). despite the fact that I purchased my device in April last year but have been using it with the cable most of the times when using the laptop.
