Beats studio wireless keeps disconnecting

I got the beats studio wireless 2.0 for Christmas and so once I listen to music on my iPhone 6 with Bluetooth on and when I want to change a song, it sudden diconnects every time. It also just doesn't happen on the music app, even when I watch videos like on YouTub. So I want to know if there is anyway to fix this issue so I don't keep turning the headphones on and off. Plus I have run iOS 9.2

I'm having same problem - skipping or reversing tracks disconnects bluetooth on 1.1.12 Beats firmware since iOS 9.2. Updater says I have latest firmware - 1.1.12. Took my headphones to Apple store today and it's costing $200 to send them away for either repair/replacement, depending what they find. I'll update if they come back with more explanation.

Hi Galimich,

Many thanks for your input, as you can see this isn't an isolated issue or defective product for yourself, but a problem with software, I think you should speak to Apple and make them aware of this because you should not be having to pay for it. I know of at least 2 other reports where Apple has replaced their beats and they have come away experiencing the same issue, fortunately for them they were replaced under warranty, I assume you paying is because they have told you are outside of your warranty period and is no longer eligible. but seem as this is down to issues caused by software and should be corrected with another update then I can't see why you should have to pay.

hopefully them sending yours off they should discover this for themselves, my concern is how many people on here have reported this to them including myself and they have not linked any of it together yet to see this.

fingers crossed we hear something soon!

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the encouragement. As you guessed, my Studios are outside the warranty period. I wanted to push for a quick resolution and I'm hoping we hear something soon too, so the others out there with this issue don't have to go down a road as costly as mine. By the way, I did share with Apple online support and the tech at the store that there were plenty of others with this issue, for what it's worth.

Cheers.

you are welcome, I just think it is quite poor they have clearly ignored the fact you stated to them that plenty of others have reported the same issue and for most has only occurred since the release of IOS 9.2, if they took it in to serious consideration they would know it is in fact a software fault and not a fault with the individuals headset. They just need to simply take a look at all these reports and run some tests of their own to find what's causing it and release the fix, I do really hope they refund you your charges when they get to the bottom of it.

All the best

Just to add to the volume of people in this thread (only a very small percentage of people who are having the problem will post on a forum, therefore one post from everyone reading this with this same issue will make Apple realize how serious of an issue it really is)

I too am having this issue. iOS 9.2. Beats are 1.1.2 and displaying as fully updated when I know for a fact now that there is 2.1.8 out there.

For a $400 product (I actually think when i bought them they were $500......) I would expect the Bluetooth, it's main selling point, to work.

If anyone finds a way to force-update all of us who have 1.1.2 to 2.1.8 so we can get back to enjoying our headphones that are made of pure awesome, that would be great - thanks. And yes, the headphones are awesome, apple's iOS update broke them.

Thanks for all your posts guys, the more we have posting on here the more Apple will see how much of a problem this is, when I first reported this last week they said they didn't have many reports this happening to others, but now they are monitoring this thread so the more they see the more likely they will do something about it, otherwise it's going to be a the same circle having to send them in for repair/replacement which ends up having a set that do exactly the same thing, I think they are on it now though as I haven't heard back from them in a few days which is a good sign I would take it as I expect they are running tests of their own, they told me beats engineers are working on it but not sure exactly what they are doing as Apple tech didn't have that information.

im just hoping its soon!

Jan 19, 2016 7:33 PM in response to PT-1005

Hi Pt-1005 are you sure it is all working ok for you? I updated to 9.2.1 and I still have the issue, when I spoke to Apple they said they wouldn't expect any fixes for it in the next IOS release as it was already in beta and so wouldn't have any further fixes for our issue and would expect if anything there would be an update for the beats headsets themselves, I have ran many tests now and mine still disconnects each and everytime just after a few skips/pausing. I got my hopes up when I saw the IOS update lol, but they haven't actually put any release notes on for 9.2.1 so can't really see what fixes has been included, but like apple tech support said they wouldnt expect anything to fix the issue in an IOS update, I'm just hoping to see an update for the beats updater

cheers all

Hello.

I'm having the same problem as the op mentioned.

A few things I would like to mention...

-I got my beats for Christmas

-had the problem, thought it was an issue w/ the headphones

-returned the headphones, got new beats

-found out I had the same problem

-did some research, found out that I needed to update my beats to 2.1.8

-to my dismay the beats still did not work...

-also, my iPhone 6 is updated to the latest software

Extremely frustrating since I thought the problem would be fixed by getting new beats. Even more frustrating that after updating to v. 2.1.8 that the headphones still have the same problem. Apple please address our problems--this thread has gotten 3000+ views in a few weeks since its creation.
