How to tell if a Photo is in an album or library

Read the answer - it is clear - you simply did not read it - nothing about Photo is or is not anything - only Album is not any

But you can make a smart album (file menu ==> new smart album) for album is not any to make a list of al photos not in any album - as you add them to an album they will disappear form the smart album

This is the sole reason I do not use Apple's Photo, its a nightmare knowing which photos are in an Album and which are not. I love Adobe's Lightroom product, not Adobe I might add, and as a result of the latter would love to migrate away but this issue, and I say issue not feature, is completely stopping me which is frustrating as I'd lie to simply my photo manage,tn and this issue actually means it's so tricky.

Of course the simple solution was posted as the first post to this solved thread

Have this same question, however, under Glenn's solution above the word "Any" is not in the drop down menu. It appears that this field cannot be changed.

jeric - did you figure this out? The first drop down must be "Album" for "Any" to be an option in the third drop down.
