iphone 6 error 53 and APPLE WONT REPLACE OR FIX!

I purchased my Apple iphone 6 on januray 10th, 2015 in Dubai. i dropped my iphone in february and the top of the iphone(above the screen) got a minute crack. there wasn't any replacement option in India so i had no other option but to use that iphone and when i tried to update the iphone to iOS9.1 in November 2015 i got an error 53. Apple in india said they cant fix it here and i'll have to send it to dubai. I had to wait a month to send it to dubai and finally did. My warranty expires on january 11th, 2016. When given for service in dubai now, they're telling i'll have to pay 1240 aed to get a new phone because my warranty is void if the iphone is broken. BUT the error hasn't occured because i broke my phone(it was working fine for 10 months). I lost all my data because of this error. i don't want apple to fix my screen or anything! i just want them to fix the error 53 so that i can use my phone but they won't! and i haven't given the iphone for service outside yet! so it's still under warranty. please help me. i can't shed all my earning trying to fix a phone where the fault is on apple. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.

iPhone warranty was never International, it will only be serviced in country of purchased.

You do not have warranty in another country.

It is all publicity, but they do not reimburse at all


My telephone worked fine despite it had been repaired by a third party. It died because of software update with error 53. Not because of the third party repair.


I had to buy complete new iPhone for 900 euro. Since Friday I know this was a waste of money because error 53 wars error from Apple not from the repair .

Apple support does not admit that I had to buy new iPhone because of their wrongdoing

Because that Error 53 check should never have come up in an unmodified device. This instances were it happens in unmodified devices have been exceptionally rare. The vast majority of Error 53 issues are related to third-party repair, because some (actually, most) third-party shops are not competent. It's extremely hit or miss with them, and there's no regulation of the industry.


Had your iPhone not had third-party service, then the worst case scenario would have been the OOW swap fee. You have to buy a whole new phone because you chose (which is your right) to have a unauthorized, unlicensed third party service your device. You forfeited your right to service from Apple.


Better luck next time. Either stick with Apple & AASPs only, or make sure that the third-party shop you use has some form of guarantee and proven track record. I've your going to forfeit your warranty, it's your responsibility to make sure that you get quality service after that.

it was not the 3 rd party who caused the problem. It was the malicious update> Before it worked, after 19 February it stil works. So it is all bull **** you are telling about the third party repairs. Not everybody lives near an apple store

If the third party repair was to blame than you were right, but all this iPhones not working anymore was entirely to blame to Apple


Im a user of iPhones since 2006-2007. I have bought al least 6 of these iphones since/. There are two iMacs and 2 iPads at home + two Mac Pro, so a good reliable customer who deserves to be better served by damage caused by Apple

Your failure to understand the technical reasons and the chain of events that caused the issue doesn't change the facts.


Not living near an Apple Store is irrelevant. You can go to an AASP, and you can find them at locate.apple.com. You can go on the Apple website and set up a mail-in repair yourself. You can call AppleCare and set up service over the phone.


I'd ask you for your ZIP code so I could look at locate.apple.com to show you just how many AASPs might be in your area... but I don't want your personal information.

For anyone who experienced error 53, Apple has released an update to iOS 9.2.1 to allow you to successfully restore your device using iTunes on your Mac or PC. Use the steps in this article to restore and recover your device. If you believe that you paid for an out-of-warranty device replacement based on an error 53 issue, contact Apple Support to ask about reimbursement.

Here is an excellent article that explains why the error 53 occurred if you have ever had 3rd party service done on your device, and that service resulted in an previously undetected (by you) modification in the Touch ID or its cable: ERROR 53 INTELLIGENT WRITE-UP


If you just went out and purchased a new phone, and you still have your old one, then you can follow the steps in the support article to fix it, and you can return the phone (it has been less than 14 days since you bought it, right?).


You have ways to remedy this situation if you take the time to enlighten yourself about what happened and where things stand now.
