What do you need to do put thoes little icons in your URL.

I'm sure I'm asking an entirely dumb question here, but it's something I haven't figured out. How do I put an icon for my site to be with my URL when someone visits it in a browser. For example there is the little white Apple when on Apple sites, a G for Google, and so forth.

Thanks

David,

I took a look at your page. Coincidentally, that is EXACTLY how mine looked the first time I set things in motion. So, a question for you. Do you have a .ico AND a .png in your sites folder? Or do you just have a .ico file in that folder?

The instructions I went to told me to put both link lines for the .ico and the .png, but mentioned nothing about putting in a .png file - even though I tried it to no avail.

Once I know whether or not you put an actual .png file in your folder along with the .ico, I'll give the original instructions another go and sit on it for a while. Maybe it takes a day to get everything sync'd up. Who knows? Maybe my computers don't understand "empty cache."

Nice sculpture on your home page, btw.

Merchandise,
I figured out the difference between your source code & mine but not the solution to the problem.

My iWeb site is published to .Mac; I also have a domain name forwarded/masked from godaddy.

The top of my source code looks like this:

<meta name="Generator" content="iWeb 1.1.2" />
<title>home</title>
<link rel="icon" href="http://web.mac.com/phelpssculpture/iWeb/favicon.ico">
<link rel="icon" href="http://web.mac.com/phelpssculpture/iWeb/favicon.png">

You can see the two favicons, a png and a ico. Your source code doesn't have this. What I figured out is this: I see my favicon when I type in my .Mac address: http://web.mac.com/phelpssculpture/iWeb/Site/ but I don't see my favicon when I get to my site from my forwarded/masked domain name:
http://www.phelpssculpture.com/ From this forwarded address the source code I showed above is not there ( as It isn't there in your source code).

The solution (if there is one) would be to get that code into the forwarded address. Hopefully someone out there knows of a way to do this.

Good luck, David
