Device locked with Activation Lock

If the iPad was not advertised as Activation Locked, immediately start a claim

with eBay to get your money back. There is no workaround for Activation Lock -

the iPad is useless and will remain so until/unless the person who initiated the

Activation Lock removes it.

If you get no reply or satisfaction from the seller, there's a good chance the device is lost or stolen from the genuine previous owner. Besides initiating the claim, the seller should also be reported.

Yes, they figured out that, unless they were able to contact the original owner, they had a useless device.

You won't be able to re-activate the iPad if you can't find the person whose account it's locked to - nobody on here, nor Apple, can help find him or remove activation lock
