FCPX 10.2.2 - Radial Blur?

Final Cut Express had a video effect called Radial Blur where you could adjust the angle and steps of the blur.

It seems this version of the Radial Blur doesn't exist in Final Cut Pro X (ver 10.2.2).

Does anyone know if there is a way to recreate this Radial Blur effect through Final Cut Pro X? Or is there a similar plug in available somewhere for free?

Thank you.

Hey, Karsten. I was able to install the plugin and I applied it to a 10 second section of footage in a timeline. But your Radial Blur is only applied to one frame of the footage, creating a "still frame" look.

If you look at my sample, you can see the people in the footage are still moving.

Are you able to replicate this?

Unfortunately I can't.

Those drop-down menus are not keyframeable.

And to make it a keyframable slider action… uhm, well, me lazy... 😉

But there's a simple workaround:

apply effect to clip.

now blade the clip into parts, and change the settings for each part differently.

not meant offensive, christine, but ("anything before a 'but' is a lie")…………

You spend a lot of time for just one effect …

Generally spoken: does your sequence work without it? Or a slightly different effect (in this case: apply rotation + motion blur)? It should, effects are eye-candy, very rarely pay to the story... (says the guy who LOVES blockbuster, CGI, lens-flare, mo-cap stuff)

And candy comes in various flavors.... 😝
