Garritan Personal Orchestra 4 didn't show in LPX

After installing Garritan Personal Orchestra 4 Aria Player (v 1846 ) in Logic Pro X ( 10.2.0 ), the

Aria Player didn't show at all in Logic ( plug-in manager or in AU Instrument in Instrument slots ).

The PS4 in showing properly in the Library/Audio/Plug-in folder, and then supposed to show in Logic.

The PS4 is 64-bit. Try everything, uninstall, re-download re-install, everything is ok each time but never show up

in Logic. Any Idea? Thanks.

Support from Garritan is great but they are as puzzled as me.

Jim, (And Tim...)

It sounds like the plugin AU version has not been correctly installed...

Please check the following two different folders to confirm it exists in there...

In Finder go to the menu bar>Go>Go to folder and then copy and paste each of these paths one at a time.. into the next dialog box.. to find and check...

First the System Library version...

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

and then the User Library version.....

~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

Note: It should exist in one of those two locations not both....

Hey, thanks for hanging in there with us!

Here's what I found: In my users path, there is nothing in the components folder (~Library>preferences>audio>plugins>components

BUT

in the system path, the Aria AU is installed in the components folder.

Are you saying it is supposed to be in both? Because on this computer, I have Omnisphere, Stylus RMX and Kontact all installed. Those 3 AU's are in the same components folder as Aria (just the system one) but those 3 AU's validated, and show up in Logic

Oh, and I've reinstalled the latest version of Aria 3 times now... still it doesn't show up

No Jim,. it should only be in one and normally thats the system Library .... where yours appears to be.

I don't know why yours is not showing up then..

I can confirm it shows up normally with LPX 10.2 and OS X 10.11.3 beta.. on my testbed rig. (I dont have a 10.11.2 rig here as my main working studio rigs are still on 10.6.8 and 10.10.5 at this time)

So, try uninstalling Garritan Aria Player.. by deleting these files..

Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ARIA Player AU.component

Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ARIA Player VST.vst

Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ARIA Player VST Multi.vst

and then restart Mac.

Now reinstall.. ensuring all parts of the install components (AU, VST, RTAS etc...) are selected...in the install dialog box...

Bingo.. That worked. I guess the components needed to be physically deleted... just reinstalling didn't do it.

But Aria is showing up in Logic now. Thank you! I appreciate your time on this

Jim

Great!

Yes, it sounds like the component file either got corrupted during or after install... or it didn't correctly overwrite the original which can happen due to perms issues...

Anyhow...

Glad I could help a bit...

Cheers..

Nigel, et al...

I'm still baffled. Again, I'm a new user and apologies all around for my denseness.

I followed the paths specified earlier and found Aria in the /library/... path, not the ~/Library/... path. There is nothing, no plugins in the ~/Library/ path. All correct plugins are listed in the non-tilde library path.

Am I supposed to delete the Aria component found in the /Library/ path?

Thank you very much!
