When I power on
When I power on instead of going straight to my desktop My name, test & Guest User pops up and it ask for my password. How do I get rid of this?

Just want to check. Do you have System Preferences -> Security -> FileVault enabled? If so, you will always have to enter a password to boot the Mac. And enabling FileVault is a good security idea, so if you have enabled it, congratulations.
This is odd. I did as you said System Preference/Security & Privacy. unclicked the lock but there is disable log in. Take a look.
I unlocked the lock then click on Disable automatic login then it says Automatically log in as: test or Guest User / Password: but it doesn't give me the option for my login. What should I do?

I do have FireVault enabled but when I unlock lock, click on Disable automatic login a window comes down w/ the choice of test or Guest User. It doesn't give me the option of my name. What should I do?
You'd have to first turn off Filevault & not use Filevault if you want to go straight to your Desktop. 🙂

I suppose if you do not want to login, and hence not have security on your Mac, then encrypting your data so that, should your Mac get stolen, you data will not be exposed, then turning off FileVault encryption is what you should do.
Or simply put any sensitive files on a password protected disk image.
It's funny I never had to sign in before until now. Do you mean mean to tell me all these years my data was exposed?
Until the past few years when whole disk encryption became practical, EVERYONE's data was exposed to physical access to their computer.
Apple's initial FileVault was not very good, but when they introduced FileVault 2 (their first whole disk encryption), it was much better. As it has been out and well debugged in several OS X releases, and with all the snooping going on, I think Apple decided to encourage enabling FileVault 2 during initial system setup. So more and more users are now using FileVault 2.
I have FireVault but I'm not sure I have FireVault 2. How do I get it? I have OS X Yosemite.
