Sometimes it works ok but often it's choppy, doesnt respond then suddenly jumps forward. Restarting Apple tv doesn't help. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a bad trackpad. I would return the ATV for another.
If you want to try everything else first, I would
1. Charge remote for 3 hours
2. Run software update on the ATV to make sure you are up to date
3. Restore the ATV.
My bet is the trackpad part of the remote is bad. Mine is always responsive.
very funny but.. I had the same problem today, I tried everything... the solution was wiping the top of the remote where you see the transmitter 😁
Hi djaysteven. What tvOS version are you running? Have you considered the possibility of Bluetooth interference? It uses the same 2.4 GHz band as many other wireless devices, including WiFi.
Turning off of all my apps and restarting solved the problem..
