OK...try this. Do that whole NEW SEQUENCE thing. Add the clip, add the effects you want, slow it down. Then render, export it as a Quicktime Movie, keep sequence settings, don't recompress. Bring that back in, and drop it into your DV timeline.
so then do I need to do it the way you stated earlier or put all of the movie into a new sequence except for the HD clip? Not sure on how to do that.
so manipulate the clip in the new sequence after i tell it to match the sequence to the clip. export it as quicktime movie to desktop or something then can it be dragged from the desktop into the original timeline?
Yes...everything but "on the Desktop." Export the movie to your Media Drive. It'll be a new media clip referenced by FCP. You don't want that just randomly sitting on your desktop.
ok. I will try this approach. I'm not the fastest at this so this may take a while. I'll get back to you after I do some experimenting with this. If you don't care I may ask for your assistance if I get hung up on something. I really do appreciate you taking the time to help me with this issue. Can I just repost or reply here again after a while or do I need to go back to people search to let you know how it goes?
Keep the conversation here. It's how it works. You pose a question/issue, we reply...and keep everything related to this in one place.
Good Luck
Thank you Shane

I pleased to tell you that your suggestion and instructions have been a success. Thank you Thank you thank you. I did what you asked and it was the sequence issue. I really do appreciate guys like you that take the time to help strugglers like myself. I hope that we can communicate again soon. Now all I have to do is figure out how to take out an extension cord out of the background of one of my scenes and ill be set. If you don't mind I may pick your brain on that one in a few days. I think for now I'm going to hang it up for a few hours. Thanks again Shane and God Bless You
