Safari completely broken after 10.11.3 update

#1

I just updated to OS X 10.11.3 from software updates, and my Safari is almost completely broken. When I create a new tab it doesn't show up. When I enter something on the URL bar, there is no auto-complete, and the URL shows up both centered and left aligned in the URL bar. Many pages, including Google will not load from the URL bar. I've tried quitting Safari and restarting, but it is the same thing. Any help? This is a huge problem.

Thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), Safari 7.0.4

Came here to see if somebody else has this problem (couldn't find anything on Google, Twitter etc.), it is indeed completely messed up. I tried clearing all my caches, disabling all my plugins, restarted my Mac multiple times but no solution. In addition to that I also experienced this crash multiple times when clicking or typing in the address bar:

I'm posting this with Firefox because Safari is completely unusable right now.

Me too !! Also since upgrading the safari page disappears to right (actually all pages float either to right or top). Some Word documents freeze up. There are a lot of issues!!! Or the Launch app page comes on unexpectedly. The size of print increases unexpectedly and can't be normalized.

The computer is nearly unusable.

What's going on?

really? you can't reinstall it? in the past i could swear i did that...

oh well either way. your solution was a simple fix for a maddening problem .

Really. The only way to reinstall Safari is to reinstall the operating system. You can't treat it like you would any other browser, where you just uninstall it and re-download it. Avoid any programs like MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, TuneMyMac and others that purport to help you do this. You shouldn't have that garbage on your computer anyway, but never, never, EVER use a third-party program to remove anything from your computer.

pinkstones,

Thank you for sharing your answer. For the last several weeks Safari has been virtually useless. Your fix worked for me about an hour ago. Safari is working again, so far, without any problems. And thank you for letting us know that Apple is working on it. I was losing my confidence in the company.
