iPhone 6 battery dies in cold weather

That's right, the battery replacement program is for 6s only, mine is 6.

I checked using the website and it stated I was not eligible because I may have already gotten a replacement or it's not within the range or serial numbers that are affected, however, I just moved to Alaska recently and my phone shuts off with a full charge at -2 to 22 degrees F. It's an iPhone 6s Plus.

The replacement system is the biggest joke ever. Apple loves to waste your time.

After speaking with someone from apple on the phone and determining my phone needed a new battery I got an appointment to have mine replaced at the "Genius" Bar. When I arrived I was told they would need to order me a battery and I would need to return in 2 weeks once it came in. So after wasting over an hour of my time on my first appointment I get to go there again in 2 weeks and spend another 2 hours.

Way to set expectations Apple!!

I went through a similar process without all the waiting, shows up for my appointment and in less than 10 minutes explained the problem and they ordered a battery. I was told the same thing that it would be at least 2 weeks but I happened to be there a week later and asked if they had a battery in and as luck would have it they did and in an hour and a half my battery was replaced and my phone works great. Best of all it lasts all day and doesn't die in the cold!

Just replaced my iPhone 6S battery under the free replacement program.

Will post again if the problem is fixed/not fixed.

I tried to reply your question but the comment (very long) was removed by Apple.

When you touch negative things about their products they are fast to make it dissapear.

They claimedthat I was speculating but I just shared my experience from testing their devices.

For the record, I love apple products and i will continue to use and purchase them - i would just rather not need to keep my phone over 90% at all times and plugged into a portable battery brick when it is cold which is currently the only solution I have found.

Frustrating that Apple won't acknowledge this problem and delete the post. My 6 is less that 12 months old and shuts down within minutes when temps are below ~40 degrees F. Really scary to not have a reliable phone at 55% charge (when my phone shut down tonight). Very very disappointing. Hopefully there is a fix...taking mine to Apple Store this weekend. Hope I don't get a forced "upgrade" to 7 w/out headphone jack

Mine dies in 22degrees F and support told me it was a software issue.

22 degrees F is about -5 degrees C.

I have been testing a bunch of iPhone 6 (both new and old) down to -12 degrees C (10 degrees F).

If there was a software restriction that shuts down the iPhone at 22 degrees F I would have noticed.

(im testing mobiles with IOS 10.x and I cant say if older IOS had this restriction)

My iPhone 6 also dies around 40F.

Same problem. iPhone 6s was at about half battery life when I went out into the 20*F weather. Pulled it out of my purse and it died. And today is only the first really cold day of winter... this is actually a pretty big safety issue, Apple. Wanna jump in here?
