I am frequently getting this error with Safari, but not other browsers:
I've read that clearing your cookies & etc. should resolve this. For me, doing that has *not* resolved this. Any other ideas?

Thanks again for staying with me on this. I tried under recovery mode, and the issue persisted. It happened 3 times at the halfway mark through the test, same as before.
The problem is caused by something external to the computer. Most likely the site is incompatible with Safari. You've already found a workaround.

Write standards-compliant web code, and test with Safari.
What standards should I refer them to?
If they don't already know where to find documentation of web standards, there's no point in telling them.
