iMessage read reports change from read to delivered

In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that when I send an iMessage from my iPhone 6 to my best friend, it first shows as delivered, as usual. She then reads it and it'll show as read. Then I'll go back into message later and it's turned back to delivered again, as tho the imessage hasn't been read at all.

Does anybody have an idea as to why its doing this?? Or what I can do to correct this???

Thank's in advance!!

The supervisor helping with my case said she had no idea what to do next. I told her about this thread and that others started having problems with this around the time iOS 9.3 was released. And she said that she would be forwarding it to the apple engineers on Monday (their servers were down when she called me back). Hopefully this will be over soon!

Ive been speaking to a apple supervisor for the past two weeks about it. They made me restore my phone to factory settings and start a new thread while the phone was basically like new, that didn't help either. I then restored my back up to the phone and that didn't help either. It's happening on both my iPad and my iPhone now and I've been told by the supervisor it may be a operations problem or it could be a software problem they don't know what it is. When I told him there are other people having the same problem he told me that is not possible otherwise they would be aware of it. I know it's a minor problem but it's the most annoying one trust me.

Anybody have any updates on this yet?

Tge supervisor I've been working with, Carly, said she would forward the problem to the ale engineers on Monday. Their servers were down yesterday when she called me back. I told her about this thread and that others were having the same problem and she said she would be sure to include that information when she sent it over. She's calling me back on Monday. I'll post again after she calls me.

Definitely must be a software problem they can't sit there n tell us it's not then. If even the new devices are doing it then there's definitely something messed up with their upgrade on their side. how long are u supposed to go on without closing the app though. It's ur battery life it'll be using up and its Inconvenient. I'm one of those people that closes all my apps all The time.

Ive not found the solution but have found that if I manually adjust the time on my phone, and close settings and messages, it shows as read again. Then I just put the time back to automatic, and message still shows as read. just another temp fix. Obviously we don't want to keep playing with the time, but until it's properly sorted, that's what I'm doing
