In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that when I send an iMessage from my iPhone 6 to my best friend, it first shows as delivered, as usual. She then reads it and it'll show as read. Then I'll go back into message later and it's turned back to delivered again, as tho the imessage hasn't been read at all.
Does anybody have an idea as to why its doing this?? Or what I can do to correct this???

I have the iPhone 6S and software version 9.3.1 and I have the same problem. This was beginning to make me think I was crazy so I am glad to hear others have noticed it too and hopefully this will be fixed soon. I took screen shots and showed them to my friend and was like what are you doing to change it, lol.
Does anyone thats having this issue have access to the Apple Dev Beta's as iOS 9.3.2 beta is out (Came out yesterday) - Just wondering if this Beta fixes this issue? If not , Apple have not addressed it yet.
I wasn't even aware there was a beta version. don't have access to it but was told by the person I spoke to at apple that it will be sorted out in either a fix through software update, or all the people that have reported it will just wake up one day and it'll be fixed. could happen either way and until then there are many temp fixes. If anybody does have access to the Beta though and have seen the problem resolved let us know!
I've verified this issue on both my iPhone 5s and two iPad mini 4's. It began with iOS 9.3.0 and continues with the most recent iOS 9.3.1.
All devices are running the same iOS so having the same iOS version on the devices does not resolve the bug.
The work-arounds I have had to use are:
1. Never close the Messages app from Multitasking
2. If it is closed, then re-opened, either power-cycling the device or doing a Forced Restart of the device will resolve it temporarily, until the next time it happens.
It may seem like an "insignificant" issue, but in texts where you need to know if an iMessage was read by the recipient. It's a big deal.
I just Installed "iOS 9.3.2 Public Beta" that came out today , this bug is still happening for me 😟 So Apple has yet too address it.

Dear Apple... I am parking iMessage until you fix this. It started after the release of iOS 9.3 and is STILL a problem. There are other ways to communicate better and I'll use them in the meantime.
Users have been complaining about this since March.
APPLE PLEASE ACKNOLEDGE THAT YOU ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THAT IT WILL BE FIXED WITH NEXT UPDATE!
I Got a call from my apple supervisor yesterday and she said that the engineers responded and said that they are aware of the issue and are working to fix it. It should be fixed by the next update, or the update after that
happening to me. both iPhone and Mac. Irritating.
Started to happen to me too. But after let's say one week of conversation. First week was fine. On my iPad it's read and on iPhone 6S it's Delivered. Any news if this will be fixed in the upcoming 9.3.2?
My Apple supervisor forwarded my problem with this to the engineers. The engineers came back and said that they were aware of the issue and said they were working to fix it. They said it should be fixed by the next update, and if not, it'll be the update after
When I restarted my iPad, my message changed to read. On my phone the message was still showing as delivered. After restarting my iPhone, the message then changed to read. So I think a restart triggers the iMessage back to return to normal.
