In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that when I send an iMessage from my iPhone 6 to my best friend, it first shows as delivered, as usual. She then reads it and it'll show as read. Then I'll go back into message later and it's turned back to delivered again, as tho the imessage hasn't been read at all.
Does anybody have an idea as to why its doing this?? Or what I can do to correct this???

I've been experiencing exactly the same problem, it's so frustrating! My iMessages always just say "Delivered" on my iPhone however on my Apple Watch they say the correct "Read at..." time. Then, if I send another message, the original will say "Read at..." on the iPhone and then new one will just say "Delivered" until the recipient replies!
I really hope Apple do something about this swiftly!
My iphone 6s is currently doing the same thing and has for a few weeks now. Its very frustrating and annoying and i hope that the new update comes out soon so that way this can be fixed. i know its a minor issue but when lots of other people are experiencing this inconvenience as well its really annoying!!
iOS 9.3.2 is released today. can anyone tell that the delivery status change is fixed?
No, the issue still exists on my iPhone, I looked at the release notes and there was no mention of a fix for this.
i was expecting the update would fix this.
I also checked the security updates but none. that *****
Has anyone found out what Apple is doing to fix this mess? It definitely was a bug with their update.
My Apple supervisor said it would be fixed with the 9.2 update (not) or the next update. This was before they released 9.2. She said the engineers are aware of the issue and are working to fix it.
Mine is still not working properly....very frustrating!
3 Months since original post...still no fix...this is getting more and more frustrating as time passes. I get the feeling apple as other fixes that our more important. All we can do is sit and wait and hopefully with the next update it gets addressed.
IM having this issue on all of my devices. MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone. Sometimes I can check on one device and it's different to the other.
I have the same issue, proper PITA, the watch always shows it as being "read" but iPhone 6 w 9.3.2 changed back to "delivered".
Still no fix.....I guess we will have to wait for the release of ios10 this fall.
I have this problem with my iPhone 6 with the latest update. When I'm texting a iPhone 4S that can't get the latest updates anymore, then it changes from delivered to read and back again.
But after been reading this thread I don't think that's the problem anymore that it's an old phone. Started when I got updated to iOS 9.0 I'll guess.
