I was able to temporarily solve this problem by force restart the iphone(Press Power button + Home button for 5-10 seconds) and then immediately go to Settings > Battery & enable Low power mode.
This will keep the phone on for couple of hours.
i have the same problem wth my i phone 6s and i took it to a vodafone store.they checked it and told me that i was right and that they would send it to apples service. they returned it to me, two weeks after, writting that it was not among the serial numbers that the company says to change battery, so they just made an upgrade.and the problem still exists! it turned off twice in one week with 45% of battery ! what should i do ??
I have been having the same issue since updating my phone. It has been crashing at higher and higher percentage levels over the last couple weeks. Today it turned off at 89% while I was refreshing my podcasts. It is increasingly frustrating that there is no suggested help or support or update from Apple to fix this problem. It is clearly a software issue.
My phone just did an IOS update and now I have a phone that is even more unreliable than ever before. 42% and to sleep it goes unless I stay on it using it. It's not on low power mode which the phone has switched to on its own in the past.
What should I do???
There is probably a problem with iOS. Go under Settings>General>System Update, and click "Install Update". If that does not work, bring it into the Apple Store, because there's probably a faulty battery.
It could be due to temperature, Again If your not sure just take to the apple store
I've had the same issue the last three months and i took mine into a apple service center where I live last week and are waiting for them to either swap the unit or the battery. The technician told me that he had seen a numerous of users reporting the same issue related to the N71AP model.
I'm hoping for a replacement unit and hopefully it will resolve my issue.
I have this problem too. It's happened 5 or 6 times, including three times this week. Each time the battery was indicating around 40–50% left.
It's very frustrating.
I went through the same thing with my old 5 which had its battery replaced under a global replacement program.
Given my 6s is less than a year old I'm thinking a replacement handset might be the go if this poor performance keeps happening.
Having exactly the same problem. Get to 40% and it shuts off and the battery flat screen comes up. Home+Power reboots to show it has 40%. Then switches off and the same loop happens until you plug it in for just a second. Then it works for another few percent and then it starts all over again. Not got a flat battery.
Ive been having this same problem for the last couple weeks. When my phone gets around 40% it'll just shut off and I'll try to turn it back on and the charge sign comes on. I'll got and plug it in and than it will come back on. Its starting to rally bug me now, I am gonna try to do the current update and see what happens. I've only had the phone for 7 months and its a 6S.
My iPhone 6s keeps dying even though it has over 50% battery power left... it always does it on a Sunday evening in Melbourne at around 4-6pm...
My wife's phone has this same exact problem. She continues to install updates when available in attempt to rectify the issue but no luck. This seems to be effecting many iPhone 6s users, I wish Apple would respond with a solution like they did with the iPhone 5's.
I had the same problem over the past few days but last night I held in the power and home buttons together until the phone reset (no data or app loss at all) and the phone has functioned perfectly since then going from 100% last night down to 4% today when I recharged it again.
My phone is a 6s 128gb.
My phone has been doing this for the last month, moreso now that the temperature has dipped below 50. I have tried a reset, a restore from backup and made sure the time/date was set to automatic. It reminds me of my 5, which Apple finally admitted had a bad battery. Perhaps this is the same thing. Sure feels like it.
After installing the 10.2.2 update Friday I started having this problem as well. Since Friday mt phone shuts down at the 40% (+/- 2%) consistently. I was out in a rather remote area and because of this issue did not have my iPhone to rely on in the case of any kind of emergency. Clearly the problem is the SW, not the battery.
