Touch ID Not Working after iOS 9.3 Update

My TouchID is not working, post the iOS 9.3 update yesterday. Doesn't work to unlock the phone, nor apps that use it. I disabled/enabled it. Re-setup my fingerprints, and no luck. Rebooting phone doesn't help either.

Did not backup phone prior to update. And have not tried doing a backup and restoring yet. Was hoping for a quicker/better solution (and also wanted to report this issue).

Any ideas?

I have an iPhone SE which is less than two weeks old. I've upgraded to iOS 9.3.2 a couple of days ago, and suddenly today, the Touch ID sensor has stopped working completely. I've tried most of the ideas people have been putting forward: I've tried turning the phone off and on; tried a hard reset and tried resetting all settings. After following the above steps, (my previous fingerprints removed) when I tried to add a new fingerprint, the very first time I put my thumb down, there's some recognition as it lights up, and then when I press my thumb down again, its gone and it no longer registers anything, the red dots disappear. I'm reluctant to completely reset the phone because its such a palaver and I'm sure its a software issue. I'm hoping Apple will patch ASAP.

I have with my iphone 5s the same behavior.

My ios version 9.3.2

From time to time the TouchID no longer works.

In addition, the iPhone turns off sometimes or become unresponsive. It can be switched on then only a manual reset.

I have already reset and restore my iphone.

However, the errors remain.

I had exactly the same problem. It appeared just after IOS9 update. I went to a local service (in Poland - a few days before end of warranty) and they said that everything was ok. Only thing they did was restore to factory settings. Of course it didn't help - I tried it many times before. A couple of months later I called to Apple Support and they ran a test and got logs from my phone. Verdict - Touch ID - hardware problem. I went to the same service in Poland I was before and eventually they replaced my Iphone to the new one.

having the same issue with my SE and otterbox - under a week old. Tried all of the above and removing the case - but all while plugged in because battery wasn't nearly charged yet. Resetting fingerprints was only half responsive and unlocking works maybe a quarter of the time. Guess I will pull the plug and checkk it out before driving to the apple store.
