Any use replacing the battery in a old iPhone?

I have been using Apple iPhones since 2013, both in my company (3x phones) and private (1x iPhone 4S). I am happy with most of the life with iPhone but now my battery is really bad and I replaced it myself. I bought a high ah battery but the phone is working even worse with the new battery...

So, is there any use changing battery in old iPhones or will the planned obsolescence make sure there is no way to bring an old phone back to a decent life?

I really hate the idea of planned obsolescence

Apple does not sell iPhone parts including batteries. You have forfeited your ability to have the battery replaced by Apple by doing it yourself. They will no longer service your phone.

90%+ of the batteries you can buy out there are crap. It's not a matter of planned obsolescence, You could have had one that worked perfectly fine if you had gone to Apple in the first place.

Sorry. You can try again with a battery from another vendor and maybe have more luck. By the time it's all said and done, it would have been cheaper to pay Apple the $70 to replace the battery for you to begin with.

Don't forget to mention that You stand to profit from the promotion of 3rd party unauthorized service, and that doing that permanently forfeits all rights to any service from Apple. Oh, and the fact that it is impossible to legitimately obtain new genuine Apple parts. All parts available for iPhones from unauthorized parties are either salvaged, stolen, or counterfeit.

OK. Thank you for your help.

When the options are:

1. Throw the phone in the garbage

2. Try replacing the battery at a minimum cost

I think the choice is obvious.

I will try to find a battery with warrenty and see if it helps.

If not, I will buy a new Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. I am tired of they way Apple customers "with a brain" are treated and also how the iOS sytem clearly is aimed towards people that want everything to be automatic and not reachable in an easy way.

Once again, thanks for the support!
