gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

Folks, I have iPhone 6 and after updating to 10.2.1, I have lost wifi signal strength ( I have to sit in front of router to get signals) and GPS just cannot locate me. I did reset, hard reset, restore, got hardware checked at Apple but to no avail. I had to go out of town relying heavily on my GPS in phone and the **** thing just dint work. I never even dream that one day I will have to say the apple is not reliable. This has happened to me and this can happen to anyone.

APPLE, DO SOMETHING.

TIRED, ANGRY, EVERYTHING

Apple is not reading here. Please stop shouting at us, your fellow users.

If yo want Apple to do something about your issue, you'll have either take the phone to your nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider or send the phone to Apple for evaluation.

hi. I had same issue. I could not drive anywhere using turn by turn navigation, and GPS was messed up.

- Tried doing a hard reset

- Tried resetting iphone (content and network)

Nothing worked

Solution:

Make sure you have itunes installed first.

Entering DFU Mode on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

  1. Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Hold the Power button for 3 seconds.
  4. Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.
  5. Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button.
  6. After about 15 seconds you will be alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.

Do a full restore but back everything up first.

Worked for me. I can only conclude that a iphone update got corrupted and software prevented GPS from working. A restore without iTunes will use the same version that is on your phone, while iTunes will download a non corrupted copy for you. Please note iTunes download was over 2GB so you will need time.

Apple this is serious and you need to fix the issue and everyone thats having this same issue w their phone GPS not workin. I NEED my GPS to be working correctly for my job! Im supposed to be using an app called "AUTHENTICARE". But.. it WONT WORK WITHOUT GPS AND BOSS IS SAYIN I WONT GET PAID IF I DONT START USING IT !! So yes.. this is serious.. im about to loose a job because of non-functioning GPS!! Maps dosent work nor any other mapping app. They all act the same. NO GPS SIGNAL. It wont pinpoint my location and icon when im driving wanders all over the map and zero voice nav. I started w the "do a hard reset"... didnt fix it. I went to the genius bar and they & updated iOS. Then i went BACK to genius bar and they did a bak up & updated again to iOS 10 and restore to factory...still didnt fix it. I am on an iphone 6 which is now updated to iOS 10. Should i pay $200 to use my insurance to get a new phone?? A new phone that might end up having the same problem ?? I dont have $200 to waste on what seems to be a deeply imbedded issue with your operateing system that apparently is messing up a LOT of iphone users!! I have been a faithful and loyal customer of APPLE for many years but right now im beyond disgusted!! I would appreciate a response from you soon..... WITH A FIX !!!!!

Because the geniuses at the genius bar dont know how to fix it either!!

It hardly seems as if $200 would be a waste if it means you get to keep your job.

If the app you're required to use is supported on an Android phone, I'm sure you can find one for less then $200.

There are "hosts" who provider moderation, but they don't actively read the forum. They depend on volunteer users to report posts that should be reviewed. Anyone with more than 150 points has a button to report a post. And the hosts are not generally technically qualified (or at least it isn't in their job description); experienced users generally know a lot more about Apple products than do most of Apple's 800,000 employees. The forum also has Community Specialists, who are Apple employees. Their responsibility is to respond to posts that have gone a while with no responses. And they are authorized only to post links to and to quote from Apple support articles.

The benefit to forum users is that the volunteers, not representing Apple, can say things that an employee would need to get clearance from Apple Legal to say. In this specific thread, for example, an Apple employee would require approval from Apple management to make any comment on the GPS issue. A user/volunteer is not restricted in what they say, other than by the general Terms of Use.
