gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

Folks, I have iPhone 6 and after updating to 10.2.1, I have lost wifi signal strength ( I have to sit in front of router to get signals) and GPS just cannot locate me. I did reset, hard reset, restore, got hardware checked at Apple but to no avail. I had to go out of town relying heavily on my GPS in phone and the **** thing just dint work. I never even dream that one day I will have to say the apple is not reliable. This has happened to me and this can happen to anyone.

I finally figured out why I have lost my gps connection. My problem was caused because the so called Wifi-flex cable wasn't connected anymore on all 4 connections points.

Apparently the connections pop loose easily. After I connected them again with the circuitboard my connection is working perfectly.

PS. For all the dyi people here: Be really careful with placing back the bracket covering the lcd connection cables. Don't mix up the screws!! Using a 1,3mm screw instead of a 1,2mm will cause damage to the circuitboard. That resulted in bad connection also for me.

Good luck people!

Welp... way out of warranty, so they offered to replace at $299.

I ordered an $8 kit online so I could get the correct screwdrivers to open the phone. I want to see if there's a part or connector that I can reseat. If that fails, then I'll be taking Apple up on their offer.

Funny enough, they offered to buy back the phone if it is in "good condition". I'm telling you the thing is broken, but if that's "good enough", then hey... cut the check.

I recommend you to contact apple support via online, and choose the option for them to call you. It will be still available even though your iphone is out of warranty( by clicking the exception after 9.3 upgrade)

Contact Apple Support

I did this , and someone from apple contact me to get more details data.

More people complain, i hope that apple will take care of this problem faster.

I address this issue and complain on the forum to the apple support that i contacted.

But he told me that there's no significant complain regarding this issue yet.

Posting in this forum only, will not make apple aware of these issues.

Same here. Finds general location initially upon map boot up (sometimes), but then loses it and all compass function when you start navigation. Maps just freeze. Also, compass is all jacked up (says I was going northeast when I was headed south). Waze won't even launch b/c it keep routing me to location services (which is turned on). It this a software issue or what? Either way, not having maps navigation is like going back to the 1880's. I actually had to plan my route and listen to my instinctual carrier pigeon inner-ear to decipher north and south. Felt like Louis and Clark trying to navigate around Dallas today.
