gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

Folks, I have iPhone 6 and after updating to 10.2.1, I have lost wifi signal strength ( I have to sit in front of router to get signals) and GPS just cannot locate me. I did reset, hard reset, restore, got hardware checked at Apple but to no avail. I had to go out of town relying heavily on my GPS in phone and the **** thing just dint work. I never even dream that one day I will have to say the apple is not reliable. This has happened to me and this can happen to anyone.

Sorry to say its not software. I too thought this.

the module for gps is damaged, but not "out".

coincidence lays where it starts with the update.

DIagnostics run by them will not populate the module failure cause its still functioning and their tests are based on running or not running, not damaged but running still.

they need to swap the phone

no location at all may be another story, the above is for wrong location only

I'm having the same issue...

- Reset Factory Settings: Didn't fix issue

- Calibrated Compass: Didn't fix issue

- Restored iPhone as iCloud Backup: Didn't fix issue

- Restored iPhone with new install 9.3.1: Didn't fix issue

Went to the apple store today and ran a diagnostics test which came back all fine. I did a fresh install at the Apple store (no iCloud backup) with 9.3.1. He said he was aware of the issue and fixed a customers phone by doing this. Needless to say, the GPS issue wasn't fix.

I'm trying to find an install of 9.2.1 to revert back to now. I'll keep you all posted once I do.

Hi All,

Just an update.

I've found the iPhone software for 9.2.1 (iPhone7,2_9.2.1_13D15_Restore.ipsw). I placed my phone into recovery mode and tried installing 9.2.1. I received this error, "This device isn't eligible for the requested build." iTunes is also not letting me restore anything unless it's connected to the internet. I'm going to do some more digging and see how I can downgrade.

For those who need 9.2.1 here's the download link.

Hi All,

Looks like apple no longer allows downgrades from 9.3.1 to 9.2.1 now that IOS9 is no longer in beta. I'm trying to restore my phone to 9.3 now. I've read up that this can still be done as a downgrade. If you need the download links for 9.3 i'll include them below.

I'll keep you posted...

Another user posted that they drained their battery dead, and then recharged and they were able to get better reception. I tried that this morning, and so far I am getting good GPS reception. I am holding my breathe though because I've received good reception, to later see the problem reappear. Try turning on your GPS, BlueTooth, etc., and play music on mute and drain your battery down dead, and then charge it back, and let us know if it works for you.

Try draining your battery until it is dead, and then charge. Another user reported that this worked for them, and so far it has been working for me today.

I also download an app called "Gpsinfo" that meassures GPS reception, and so far I am getting reception within "65 meters" which is sufficient for navigation. I am getting this reception inside my house, and before the drain and recharge I was getting about "1440 meters"
