gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

Folks, I have iPhone 6 and after updating to 10.2.1, I have lost wifi signal strength ( I have to sit in front of router to get signals) and GPS just cannot locate me. I did reset, hard reset, restore, got hardware checked at Apple but to no avail. I had to go out of town relying heavily on my GPS in phone and the **** thing just dint work. I never even dream that one day I will have to say the apple is not reliable. This has happened to me and this can happen to anyone.

I tried draining my battery, but that did not have any effect.

Draining the battery probably has the same effect as turning your phone off and back on.

The battery never goes completely empty, when you reach 0%, the phone stops working, but it still has a little bit of power to show a "connect to power source" screen.

I hope I will get a replacement.

HHaving pretty much the same problem as everyone else here. Took it to the Genius Bar. No luck. I explained to the "tech support" employee what Ive done (hard reset, turned location services off and on, and reset network settings). After I explained that i was having the same problem with multiple apps to include google maps and apple's maps and waze, she still insisted that I delete and reinstall google maps. I did. Same results. Asked if she had anyone come in before w this problem, she said no. we hooked up to the apple store wifi to run a diagnostic. found nothing wrong. Tried maps again while connected to their wifi. And as expected, it showed my location accurately. She seemed to think that fixed the problem even after I explained to her that of course it will show an accurate location since it was using the wifi to find me. she didn't understand and took that as the LTE as being the problem since the location services found me accurately while connected to the wifi...

then she blamed it on my lack of memory storage on my phone. Even after I deleted a bunch of apps and photos clearing about 1G of memory w the same results.

also, she noted that I kept getting kicked off their wifi as the "LTE" symbol kept popping up intermittently while being connected to their wifi. "Oh but that's not what you came here for, but that is odd."

i then explained to her that Ive heard a lot of people were having the same problem with iOS 9.3.1 and when I suggested that it may bet he iOS she said "no ios 9.3.0 had that problem and that's why they came out w ios 9.3.1." So that tells me she has heard of this problem. Contrary to what she said earlier. she kept going back to trying to blame ATT and the LTE. I gave up trying to get her to understand. Asked her if she's heard if 9.3.2 was coming out soon but she said they haven't announced that yet. Great. Yet I'm hearing that there's a beta version out at the moment.

Long short I was sent on my way w a new SIM card that I had to activate and install myself and promised that it would most likely fix my problem. I activated and installed it. Nope. Same problem. Seriously Apple, these "techs" are suppose to be knowledgeable in their trade. Only thing that was achieved today was my loss in confidence in apple support.

HI guys,

after trying several scenarios with iOS 9.3.2 beta 4 I have just realized the GPS seems to work fine only in the case you got more than 90% of battery.

I don't know why but looks like the software is minimizing the accurate of the GPS in order to don't waste to much battery. If this is supposed to be an enhancement, this suck as ****.

Can you guys try the beta 4 and confirm the same I do?

Thanks you all

Guys I was having the same issues like everyone here. I went to Genius bar after restoring my iPhone as new. My GPS issue started after installing iOS 9.3. Genius bar said there must be issue with your hardware and asked me to pay $ 299 for replacement phone. I was not satisfied so I contacted Apple Support (1800-275-2273). After following with them for more than a month, they agreed to replace my phone for free. There is a problem with software and Apple refused to accept it. My patience paid off. If you are not satisfied with Genius bar, please contact Apple Support.

I too have the same issue, was out of state and got lost when the navigation gps did not respond.

I tried reset and everything. With so many people having this issue, I think it is great candidate for a

class action law suit if Apple does not address the issue. Next time switching to some other brand

can buy 7 phones for the same price,

Having the same issue. Traveled to Montreal on business and my GPS was not working tried all the provided steps in this thread and nothing worked.

Try travelling to a location without knowing how to fluently speak the language and drive in an area with messed up roads and closures.

Apple fix this in the next update!!!!!

I have the same problem. Ever since updating to 9.3, MAJOR GPS and WiFi issues. This is not right. Apple should stand behind their products and fix these issues. They carry serious safety implications. I went to the "Genius" Bar today and was told that since a hard reset didn't work, that I will need to pay $300 for a new phone. Apple, step up or you are going to lose a lot of customers.
