Have you done a restart since the update?

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up the app window until it flies off the screen.

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

I have the same problem as do many people. I went to the Apple Store in Barcelona and they said it's a known issue with iOS 9.3 for some people. I have the 6s plus so it's not to do with the age of the phone. They advised to backup my phone to pc and reset to factory which is a real pain. As on vacation don't have that ability so it's really frustrating. I guess Apple will get an update out as soon as possible as there are many frustrated users right now. Come on Apled get this fixed already !!

Probably this will be my last IPhone. I´ve changed the MacBook + Ipad by one Surface Pro with Win10... and now the phone will be a next generation Android. Again, Miss you Steve... I never heard something else like this from Apple: Activation Problem and Hyperlink Problem. Ridiculous... and they know about it and they do NOTHING.

Starting today I have the same issue, but happening in both Chrome and Safari where clicking a URL does not work anymore.

Also when clicking URL in Mail, the Mail app itself hangs and is no longer responsive. Seeing too many posts on various sites about this issue for Apple not to act on it soon.

I have an iPhone 6s running iOS 9.3

Found another pattern:

  1. iCloud Sync
    1. I downloaded an app on another device and it installed in my iPhone that is having issues, problem reappeared.
    2. I turned off safari and app install syncs.
  2. Installed a new app that made use of Universal links
    1. Fuel Rewards in this case, I added a passbook, it directed me to Safari and I was able to add it.
    2. Links then began to have issues after that.
    3. Uninstalled Fuel Rewards and rebooted phone, problem gone.

I've noticed that in xCode, the apps that are questionable do seem to appear in device logs as a crash. That's been helping me to identify which apps I need to target to delete and reboot phone.

I understand from someone who has opened 3 tickets with Apple that they are planning to release an update on April 2nd to fix these bugs. I do not know if this information is correct but I thought I would share it here. As a long term Apple user I can only express my disappointment not only for the release of a seriously flawed version of the iOS but also at how the company is managing the issue. We can neither spend our days without search nor can we spend time playing around with Apps and the iOS to find a self made solution to the problem. Apple get a move on!

Hello michelelyn,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your question, I understand that hyperlinks are not behaving as expected after updating to iOS 9.3. We know how frustrating situations like this can be and we want to make sure your devices are working as expected.

iOS 9.3.1 was recently released. Performing this update should resolve this situation.
