iOS 9.3 - Safari/Mail freezes after clicking links on iPhone 6S

Hi,

Never had any problems with my iPhone 6S. Just upgraded to iOS 9.3 without any issues. After the upgrade, I can't click links when searching something on Google in Safari or clicking a link in the Mail, the apps just freeze.

I tried clearing Safari history data/cache, closing all apps and restarting the phone (both regular and holding both home/power key), disabling all sorts of settings form Safari settings, but no luck.. Anyone with an idea how to sort it out?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3

I have the same problem with mail, Safari, and messages. Links work with the gmail app. Links work in Chrome but only with a long click to get the option to open in a new tab. It appears this has happened before with 9.2.1 but I could not find an answer that fixed the problem. I do not think it started until 24 hours after the update. iPhone 6s+ 128gb 9.3.

I am, like others, beginning to wonder if Apple has been hacked. I just realised that some of the songs in my ITunes list had changed to Chinese characters for their title and artist. I thought it had something with restoring my iPad mini in an attempt to get it working properly again, but... the Chinese characters make me suspicious of a hack at Apple.

I have been using iPhone from 2009 and I was happy with everything about iPhone. Yesterday was a day when the first time I had to download a third-party browser because of Safari is absolutely useless with this bug. It's just awesome as Apple likes to say. Apple smartphone is useless for using internet - it's awesome!

And I absolutely agree with BARTdG:"...if it wasn't for the complete lack of information/communication. Apple are so arrogant towards their customers when they've screwed up."

Thank you Tim, you lead the Apple to the right way. It's awesome!

I'm seeing this problem too.

What I can say is that on 21 March my iPhone 6S+ 64GB was working absolutely fine, I know this because my Betfair App was working fine.

Yesterday on March 26 when I tried to use the Betfair app again I found I wasn't able to use the login link, Betfair confirmed that there was no problem their end and I could login through the browser portal anyway, at this point I was running 9.2.1. I tried reinstalling the Betfair app but it still didn't work.

Also of note is that I have the Booking.com app installed.

In an effort to get the Betfair app to work I upgraded to 9.3. The only App I installed between I installed between the 21 Mar and 26 Mar was a game called 'Super Arc Light'. I can't help but think though that there has been some silent update which has broken all of this - it definitely affects 9.2.1 (13D20) and 9.3 (13E234).

Not great from Apple and very disappointed.

Ok, guess what. Here thee's another user that has same problem with Hyperlinks... ME.

I wrote to @applesupport via Twitter and they told me to send em a DM and they would have gave me some kind of support (no answer though meantime).

Anyway, trying to figure out myself why I have this problem, i made some exclusion's test at my home, under same wifi network.

Me my mum and my GF are having iPhone 6s 64GB Space Grey. All have booking.com app (just to answer to whom think this is app-related but i don't think so)

All of us are having iOS 9.3 13E234. I also have my dad with iPhone 5 32 and an iPad air 64. All this devices are using iOs 9.3 updated from iTunes and not OTA.

The problem experienced by the ppl on this conversation though occurred just on MY iPhone 6s (what a lucky guy). I tried to total reinstall iOs and restore backup from iTunes but no help (not configured as new one, i can't lose my things that are stored since my first iPhone in 2008). I switched javascript, resetted history and cache... no help (and i lost my previously opened tab on safari and all my history on my macbook too since it was connected through iCloud). I tried to do all the things purposed online but no other helps.

Oh, btw, the problem didn't started with iOS 9.3 immediately, but just last morning (after all our iPhones changed AUTOMATICALLY time clock in daylight saving time as expected)

SO....

So... what is the main difference from my IP6s and my gf and my mum that are working fine?...

By software and data stored.... many difference that i don't want to investigate (none of them is an almost fresh new iPhone so, discover the cause would cost me so much time i don't have...) BUT hardware difference?? MY iPhone 6s has a SAMSUNG A9 chip. other iPhones 6s with no problems on hyperlinks have TSMC.

So I ask in the community, is there ppl who are experiencing problems with iPhone and TSMC chip inside?

Hoping to solve it ASAP, I use my iPhone in tethering and i browse the web with my MacBook Pro retina... what else shall I do?

iphone 6plus user, This is a major malfunction by Apple and I'm sorry I updated this. I've changed the clock back to the 25th and disabled JavaScript. I've also disabled search engine suggestions and safari suggestions. I have limited access in safari but without JavaScript some sites are limited.

Apple better get the finger out and fix this soon, it's extremely damaging to them. Theres nothing in the media about this, from looking here it appears to be a worldwide problem.

As usual in recent history... another hunk of dung from Apple. I have been battling 9.X.X and it not working with my new truck since I updated to it and apple keeps blaming it on Chevrolet, which oddly enough worked perfect until the day I updated to the 9.x.x.

Long story short, I heard 9.3 was suppose to fix this "Chevrolet" 😕 issue so against my better judgement I upgraded as soon as it was available.... now My phone is even closer to a brick than it was before.

I have been with apple since the original IPhone and cannot believe what I'm about to do..... Deep breath....... headed to AT&T to look at The Android Devices and more than likely Goodbye 6 Plus! Heck, I have already replaced my iPad with this Surface Pro... Had I not, I probably wouldn't have been able to get on here and complain to all of you, LOL.

Good luck guys, I cant keep doing this.
