10.11.4 Safari freeze

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro Retina 13" Mi-2015 since November and I didn't have any problems since the new El Capitan 10.11.4.

Indeed, Safari freeze randomly when I click on tabs and also freeze the entire computer. I can only hard reboot my Mac ...

Someone also have this problem ?

Thanks.

God, I'm glad I found you guys.

I was suffering this problem for more than a month now. Whenever I checked the Console after every reboot, there were no explicit issues.

I had a feeling that I started to suffer these freezes after 10.11.4, then I waited for a quick update since I thought that a lot of people would be impacted. The update never came, which made me believe that I could be the only one.

So I took my macbook for repair, but the guys couldn't reproduce the freezes. I got my macbook back and boom, frozen once again.

I decided to format my macbook as a last resource last night. Now I'm clearly suffering the issue when trying to watch videos, along with the clear message in the console mentioning that the video decoder is stuck.

The point is that now the freezing circumstances are clear after formatting my macbook - this enabled me to find this thread. Probably the fact that I had VLC player before formatting was masking the diagnose somehow.

Nevertheless, I'm really upset with all this. I thought my macbook was defective and I was annoyed that I could not diagnose anything, neither the repair guys.

I have iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2010) i3. Same problem random freezes, I had to hard reset,

I had this problem daily when installed 10.11.4 about one and half months ago. It always seemed to be be with Safari when visiting web pages (often British online soccer) with video

However, I haven't had the problem for nearly 2 weeks now when I removed two USB cables usually attached to my iMac usb ports.

So maybe I'm clutching at straws but it's worth checking what cables you have attacked to your iMac ports.

The two usb cables attached were;

1. Usb to apple iPhone 4 connector cable (standard one I received from Apple with my iPhone 4)

2. A usb cable to a bank card reader e.g. on the right hand side in the picture below (provided by my bank with an accompanying card reader driver app)
