For those having problems with the iOS 9.3 update please read...

So many people are having problems with the update to iOS 9.3 and the questions are flooding the iOS support forums now. I am hoping that by consolidating some of the information available, it will help some of you without starting hundreds of new threads all asking about the same things.

Please do not shoot the messenger if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help by providing some information To the community. Theses problems are well known, Apple has acknowledged them and is reportedly working on a fix that should be out soon.

Here are some tech site articles that explain the problems if any of you are interested in reading them. They are in no particular order other than what my most recent Google search turned up for me.

Apple posted these support articles a couple of days ago and they might help some of you as well

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If nothing suggested works for you right now, you will just have to be patient (remember that "please don't shoot the messenger" thing from above ) and wait until Apple issues the fixed software update.

That's great that Apple is "working on it", but in the meantime our devices are worthless other than for game. Email links are a VERY big deal for those of us on the road.

That being said, do you know of a way to revert back to the pre 9.0s1 software?

Thanks for taking the time to post those links. It is disappointing that Apple doesn't have these on their website.

Maybe Apple should have a “Support” option for solely “iOS”, just as they do with “OSX” (see Picture below), which would roll up all these similar issues across the iOS devices into one Support feed instead of having individual support for “iPhone”, “iPad” or iPod”. The current issue with this iOS 9.3 release, as with other releases, had more to do with their Software than with using the device (“Using iPad”). I do appreciate how OSX and iOS are different, but if you look anywhere under MAC support, there’s one support community for OSX tying it all together.

It's a good idea and any number of people have suggeste it. My thought on why not is there's just enough differences beteen haow IOS runs on a iPhone or iPad to lump them together would actually cause confusion and iPad questions would get lost in even more Forums. I usually tell people to post their question where it will get the most eyeballs. Just my thought, I like new creative ideas so please don't let me dissuade you. If you think it's a goid idea you need to let Apple know at the link below.

That's the first time I ever suggested not updating. Leaving the risks aside I just don't see any gain for an iPad 2. IOS 9 was very good to my iPad 4. IOS 9.3 for me was a complete waste of time. I hate to say it but time marches on even for my iPad 4. I just hope I don,t become one of those geezers when iPad Super Pro Premium comes out. "I don't need no stinkin' iPad Super Pro Premium. The home button still works and the screen sort of still comes on. Nope they ain't fooli' me with their fancy Dan iPad Super Pro Premium !" 🙂

I waited & updated all of my devices (including my iPad 2) to iOS 9.3.1. I am happy to report it was the smoothest update I've had in a long time. My iPad 2 is faster than it was on 9.2.1. That alone made the update worthwhile & brought some life back to my 5 year old iPad. Worth waiting for the kinks to be ironed out 🙂
