For those having problems with the iOS 9.3 update please read...

So many people are having problems with the update to iOS 9.3 and the questions are flooding the iOS support forums now. I am hoping that by consolidating some of the information available, it will help some of you without starting hundreds of new threads all asking about the same things.

Please do not shoot the messenger if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help by providing some information To the community. Theses problems are well known, Apple has acknowledged them and is reportedly working on a fix that should be out soon.

Here are some tech site articles that explain the problems if any of you are interested in reading them. They are in no particular order other than what my most recent Google search turned up for me.

Apple posted these support articles a couple of days ago and they might help some of you as well

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If nothing suggested works for you right now, you will just have to be patient (remember that "please don't shoot the messenger" thing from above ) and wait until Apple issues the fixed software update.

That's great that Apple is "working on it", but in the meantime our devices are worthless other than for game. Email links are a VERY big deal for those of us on the road.

That being said, do you know of a way to revert back to the pre 9.0s1 software?

Thanks for taking the time to post those links. It is disappointing that Apple doesn't have these on their website.

Well, I bit the bullet here (despite my common logic) and updated my iPhone 5s (Demotake note) to the latest build which is verified on my device as iOS 9.3 (13E237). It replaced iOS 9.3 (13E233) which was installed on the 5s on the day of release.

I have seen zero issues since updating awhile ago (except for what's noted below but that applies to both builds).

A bug I am seeing though (beginning with 13E233) is still present and that is iMessage will flag the last "read" text properly as "read" until iMessage is shut down from multitasking. After re-running iMessage, that last "read" text will be improperly flagged as "Delivered", despite the fact that it was already actually read and flagged as read before iMessage was shut down. This bug (verified) does not exist in iOS 9.2.1 (tested on my iPad mini 4).

Other than that, nothing abnormal (yet) to report.

@elcpu

I'm not 100% positive since I updated both times through iTunes (I never update OTA) but I do remember both builds being approx. the same ~1.3 GB. I have a 10mbit connection and usually have to wait 15-20 minutes for the ipsw file to download fully. This happened with both builds so I assume the file sizes were both ~1.3GB. No way was any update I installed only ~200 MB...seems like the 200 MB download you mention should be the Delta/OTA update size.

Thanks...

Don't know if you read my previous posts on this thread today. I have two iPad Airs on 13E233 saying that an update is available, I assume to 13E237 and the OTA update is 1.3 GBs., i.e. the complete update OTA, not just a Delta. I also have an iPhone 5, also on 13E233, and it says that it is up to date in contrast to the iPads that want to update. Demo has an iPhone 5s, also on 13E233 that wants to update OTA at 1.4 GBs. Hard to make sense of this. My iPads want a full update OTA, my iPhone wants nothing, and Demo's 5S wants a full update OTA also. No consistency here.

Here is one of the iPads. I will let it rest and see what happens....

My iPad Air 2 with the "safari & mail link problem" was not fixed after deleting booking.com app.

I Don't know if it's purely coincidental my iPhone 6+ which isn't affected by the problem do not have booking.com app installed.

APPLE guys, please ID the problem & get us a fix soon (AND SAY SOMETHING LIKE YOU SCREWED IN PUBLIC STATEMENT). where are your PR guys? Silence only gives bad impression.

So you updated on the day of release like I did, and you still received the new update notification also like I did? I am very, very hesitant to install this latest update. I haven't had any real issues that I could find since the initial update. Why would they release updates for devices that are working OK? Did all iPhones older than the iPhone 6 receive the update notification again? That couldn't be it. elcpu Has an iPhone 5 and it is showing the the software is up to date.

I Downloaded and installed 9.3 without issues the day it was available on my Ipad Air, Iphone 6s Plus, on my husband's Air 2" Ipohone 6s. All have worked without issues, I do not even have ghe hyperlink issue.

THis morning I opened my Ipad Air and see I have another version of IOS 9.3 already downloaded, ready to install. I'm a bit sary of doing this since my Air is working fine. Contacted a friend with an Air who was on her Pro and as soon as she plugged in her Air, it proceeded to download a neew version alsi even though she too has 9.3 already installed on it. So, any advice, install? It will have to overwrite the current 9.3.

I'M just SMH why it would want to install another version--knew Ipad 2 had problems but they would have to install via Itunes/computer.
