Trackpad Freezing

Hello, Apple Community. I recently purchased back in February a 13.3 inch MacBook Pro Retina and it's already giving me a problem. It has recently has started freezing the trackpad and the wired mouse that I have connected. It's done this a couple times already. I don't exactly know what to do about it other than restart my computer, but I feel like this shouldn't be happening it's practically a brand new computer. I think it's software related, but I could be wrong. I updated El Capitan to 10.11.4. That's the only thing that I've done. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix? Thanks Guys!

I also have the same problem on my MacBook Pro 13'' Retina display. I have had this notebook for about a year. I had never had this issue until I upgraded to the latest version of OS X. I have tried all sorts of things from cleaning cache memory to restoring the OS X. Nothing has helped so far. In the beginning, it was freezing once a week, but over the past week it has been freezing once every single day. My trackpad becomes as hard as rock. My warranty is expiring very soon, so I am gonna take into an Apple store. It's just weird.

SebSemmi is right, a new one with the same OS likely won't fix it.. I purchased a 13" MAC Book Pro, 256 gig HD, 8 gig RAM, Retina, running 10.11.4 in March of this year. It says that it's an early 2015 model. After just over a month of dealing with the issue, and generating 8 Capture Data reports, tech support at My Apple contacted the store manager where I bought it and asked him to replace it with a new one. Prior to doing that, they tried many different things. Screen sharing never solved anything, wiping the HD and reinstalling OS 10.11.4 did nothing either. So, I replaced it last week and it froze last night. Apparently Apple has identified an "issue" (the store manager just told me that he read it on a forum, last night) and it likely won't be fixed until they release the next OS update. I'm taking mine back, and they're going to give me a new one that has 10.11.3 and disable automatic updates until the issue is fixed. I'd like to know why this seems to affect random laptops, and not the entire batch? The only other things that I have installed on it are Microsoft Office (new version), Adobe Flash Player and Skype.

Hi Clement, So you've installed the 10.11.5 and it's still doing it? I down loaded it a few hours ago and so far nothing, so I'll wait and see. Since I just purchased this computer on the 12th, It has frozen once. I was about to return it to the store for one with the 10.11.3 to see if that would help, but I'll let it run with the new OS installed. I'll post back later, or in a few days to let you know if mine continues to freeze. Even once, and I'm taking it back, as I have an arrangement with the store manager.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. A little over a week ago, I was getting ready to take my less than one week old MAC Book Pro back to the Apple Store for exchange, as was instructed to by a senior advisor at My Apple. I was speaking with the Manager of the store, as he was the same staff that had exchanged the previous MAC for the same reason. That would have been my third MAC since March. I was supposed to go to the store the following day, where he was going to exchange it for a new MAC Book, but one with the 10.11.3 OS. The day that I was to bring it in, he called me to tell me that Apple had just released a software update, the 10.11.5 OS, a hefty nearly 800 meg fix. He asked me to down load it, and if it didn't work, he'd do the exchange. So far, since the down load, I've had no problems. The previous MAC Book would freeze up every couple of days, and the last day I had it before exchanging it for the one I have now, it froze twice in once day. This one has frozen once, which happened about four days after getting it. I too uninstalled Adobe Flash player on the previous unit. That however, did not fix the problem of the touch pad and the key board from freezing. I'm hoping that the 10.11.5 update will be the trick, and so far so good.

My point, this is a trouble who I am not the only one is suffering. And I would like to know if Apple is thinking something about it, considering customers all over the world who don't have an apple store nearby.

As you can read, Jared Purdy has changed his Mac 2 times and no solution yet. This is not the Apple commitment the customers are waiting for.

Anyway, yesterday I contacted apple support and after running a couple of test the answer was: take it to an Apple Store for technical support (How much $$$$ for a 1 year ol Macbook, 3 months out of warranty??). When a bought my Mac (Number 10 apple device I have bought) I thought it had the same quality than the old ones, but something is going on with Apple: many keynotes but less durability. It will be hard to sell the Macbook once I decide upgrade it for a new one.
