OS X 10.11.4 freezing and/or crashing while using Safari

I am having a very similar issue however it only seems to affect the mouse tracking which I would describe as sticky. This all started when I recently purchased a new Mac Mini 2017 running OSX Sierra 10.12.3. The only 'fix' I have discovered, if you want to call it that, is to reboot. I do this every morning. Not a huge problem but it would be nice to get this issue fixed. Thanks...

No, you are the only one I've seen report the problem.

Try each of these in order. Test to see if the computer is working properly:

1. Reset the PRAM
2. Reset the System Management Controller (SMC)
3. Start the computer in Safe Mode, then restart normally. This is slower than a standard startup.
4. Repair the disk by booting the from the Recovery HD. Immediately after the chime hold down the Command and R keys until the Utility Menu appears. Choose Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the indented (usually, Macintosh HD) volumeentry from the the side list. Click on the First Aid button in the toolbar. Wait for the Done button to appear. Quit Disk Utility and returnto the Utility Menu. Restart the computer from the Apple Menu.
5. Reinstall OS X by booting from the Recovery HD using the Command and R keys. When the Utility Menu appears select Reinstall OS X then click on the Continue button.
6. Download and Install the OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 Combo Update.

Please open the Safari preferences window and select the Security tab. Uncheck the box marked Allow Plug-ins. Any improvement?

I have the same problem with my rMBP Early 2015 with 10.11.4. The whole system freezes, even the Forcetouch Trackpad stops working. There will be now System Diagnostics Report generated, so the problem will probably not be sent to Apple…

I think, it's always in Safari when I start watch an embedded video. Plug-ins are not allowed and I already did a PRAM and SMC Reset. It's probably a bug in 10.11.4 and Webkit

Two times this has happened to me. The first time I clicked a Youtube video and the whole system froze. The second time I entered Apple.com and wanted to watch the last keynote. As soon as the video started, the system froze.

And yes, the force trackpad stops working as well.

Please, Apple, acknowledge this.

I think Apple meant about some problems in iOS 9.3. They haven't said anything about OS X 10.11.4.

I am experiencing the same on my late 2015 retina iMac. Before the update to 10.11.4, everything was stable, after the update, i am getting freezes regularly (5 in the last 3 days) and unprompted reboots (3 in the last 3 days) too. Of course I have done the usual pram reset etc. routines already. Memtests and hardware diagnostics check out too, temperatures are between 35 and 45 degrees across all sensors.

What's noteworthy is that I don't use Safari as my primary browser, I use Chrome, yet the connection with Youtube seems obvious, as it too likes to freeze when playing back videos for a prolonged amount of time. Is it a codec issue, memory, graphics drivers, something else?

I am depending on OSX for my work, I can't have the system freeze in the middle of e.g. a live recording session for no apparent reason. Apple, I need a fix ASAP.

You have had large number of answers already.

A lot of people have had the same and different issues on a system where the 10.11.4 uppdate was downloaded almost immediately from the Appstore when announced.

You solve this most of the time by downloading the Combo Update and installing it. As said in the first post from theratter that you received.

Nope, installing the Combo Update doesn't solve anything. I did it yesterday and today I encountered the same problem again. It's bug, probably in Safari, and we have to wait for Apple to release a fix
