iPhone 6S, Visual Voice Mail not working

Hello, Visual Voice mail not working when iPhone 6S is connected to wifi and LTE. Works if you turn wifi off. Very inconvenient. Have tried 4 new iPhones this month and have the same problem. Bought the first 2 from the Apple Store. Apple Genius rep could not fix. Apple Care + could not fix. T Mobile said their version of the phone was different. Returned phones to Apple, got two (wife and I) new ones from T Mobile. Same problem. T Mobile cannot fix. T Mobile says it is an Apple issue. My Android phone worked fine. I am caught in the middle.

All, Thanks for the replys. I have already tried just turning off wifi calling to no avail. I don't use wifi for calling. But having it turned on should not make a difference and it doesn't. With wifi calling on I even set the preference to use cellular for calling. Only way to get visual voice mail to work is to completely turn off wifi. Also I pay for 30 mbps download speed for my wifi. It typically runs close to that when I test it. My wife and I are the only users, Bandwidth would not be a problem. I just chatted with Apple a few minutes ago and pointed them to these posts. They are escalating the issue. Will see what happens.

Okay cool. Yeah, that information will be extremely helpful in pinpointing and isolating the issue. Hoping for the best

That seems rather strange, since I have VVM working on my devices here with wi-fi turned on at all times. I never turn it off. Something else is in play here since you say the only way to get VVM to work is to turn off wi-fi. If that is the case, then why would mine work with wi-fi on? Has T-Mobile ever tried re-provisioning your account? Have they tried resetting your voicemail? I still believe that either something is wrong with the way that the wi-fi calling is setup on their system, or with the way your voicemail is setup.

Yes, T-Mobile has said they have tried these. Not sure why yours is working. Seems if this was a wide spread problem there would be a big to-do about it on social media. T-Mobile actually opened a ticket through their technical team and they could find no answer. I tend to agree with you about it being a T-Mobile, but I got my wife the same phone at the same time and both do the same thing.

To be honest, I've not seen anyone I know have issues with VVM, but then T-Mobile is not real popular where I live. And as you said, I don't see this a big story. I really don't believe it is your phone, or phones. I believe it to be a T-Mobile issue and they have not provisioned your account correctly. It is not the phone in my opinion. And I realize you don't have to believe in my opinion, but again, it is not a widespread issue. If it was, there would be a great deal of traffic about it here, and there isn't.

I would like to confirm a similar problem with VVM not receiving voicemails in a timely way is occurring on the Verizon network as well..

We have experienced a similar problem on Verizon network with iPhone 6s units running the latest iOS.

Today, I had a user come to my office showing me he had not received any voice mail messages in two days even though an associated had asked him why he didn't respond to a voicemail left on Tuesday. For two days, he had been on both LTE and WiFi.

I called his phone from my iPhone 6s, left a voicemail, and immediately saw multiple voicemail items appear. One of which was the voicemail from Tuesday evening that he could not find.

WiFi calling was not enabled on either devices.

WiFi was enabled at that time on both devices.

Later this evening, while outside of the office and not connected to WiFi, I noticed I didn't have a voice mail since Tuesday evening either. Just as a test, I reset my phone and a voicemail from 3pm today showed up. That was done at 7pm tonight.

There is a definite problem with VVM delays.

We are now working through the changing of voicemail passwords and reset of network settings and monitoring the issue.

Hope you can reach a good conclusion. I have not been able to. I have changed voicemail passwords, reset network setting, restored from iTunes backup and talked to about everyone I can think of. I have two 6s phones with the problem. Only difference I can see from your description is that if I am not actively connected to a wifi network VVM seems to work even if I have wifi turned on. But if I am in my favorite coffee shop of my home office, where I am connected to a wifi network, VVM does not work...unless I turn wifi off. Apple has not been able to solve the problem, even when I took the phones to the Apple store Genius bar, and T-Mobile opened a ticket with their technical group, but to no avail. Please let me know if you come up with a solution. Thanks
