Bluetooth unavailable post 10.11.4 upgrade

OK so I installed the 10.11.4 upgrade as it was offered in the updates section of the apps store.

Since then, no Bluetooth, so no keyboard or trackpad, unless I plug them in via lightening cables.

I have tried -

1. Removing the Bluetooth plist file and rebooting with no other peripherals plugged in.

2. Reset the SMC.

3. Both 1 and 2 above

Have had no result so still no bluetooth.

I'm not impressed, for a brand new iMac to fail on an Apple update and, more importantly, it's not impressed SWMBO, (She Who Must be Obeyed), who was anti the switch from Windows to Apple anyway. So I lose - no change there then 😀

Whats the next think to try? Hand it back to Apple?

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Are you just restarting your Mac, or are you shutting it down, and then rebooting only to have continuing bluetooth issues? I have two machines here running El Capitan 10.11.4 and neither missed a beat with Bluetooth connectivity — with Apple, or third-party products.
