New 9.7 iPad Pro warped, bent, concave

Just got my brand new iPad Pro 9.7 256 gb wifi only in space grey, noticed that it is slightly warped/bent concave, I'm wondering if this is done by design to stabilize the camara bump when laying flat. Does anyone else notice the same thing? not sure if I should exchange it for another one, heavy load could have been placed on top during shipment don't see anything out of the ordinary on the box it came in, no dents or obvious damage.

lucky you i never noticed this flaw and it cost me 1500 euro's in total the ipad the pen the icare + the book the software cards the cover.

I won't see a dime back unless i pay 460 euro's to repair the ipad. I bought it in may and since i am not an apple expert i never noticed it was bend. The plan was to use it as a drawing tablet ONLY on my desk. I used duet to connect to my windows pc and make drawings for my 3d models. after less then 2 months my screen didn't turn on but my ipad was still recognized by the pc.

So i go to the apple store. i get no replacement but i do get notice a week later that i have misused the ipad and that that for repairs i should pay 460 euro's.

I am to dissapointed in apple and it's customer service. I am not even going to try to fight on it. they can keep the ipad i won't pay them 35 euro's for me to get the garbage.

I bought a new surface pro that i will use for my business.

If you read this and haven't bought the ipad yet. Seriously open it in the store and check it in detail make photo's you don't want to go my way. I won't be seeing my money again.

Thanks for nothing apple.

Really?!...REALLY???...

For 1500 Euros you can't be bothered to make a few phone calls DIRECTLY to Apple and start talking with direct Apple employees to try and get your situation straightened out and get another iPad Pro?

BTW, did you ever ask someone at the Apple Store to irrevocably prove whether or not you abused this iPad Pro or not?

I would definitely fight this!

Just call Apple directly at 1-800-MY APPLE and ask for someone either in sales or warranty repair service, throughout this call process calmly and even toned explain in detail what actually happened with your iPad and, once again calmly and even toned explain to them that you have been wrongly accused of purposely misusing and damaging your own, new iPad Pro after only two months.

Calmly explain to them that it just broke and that there was no missuse by you.

If you have to, if you get no joy from the first or second employee that you talk to, then keep asking for the next supervising and responsible employee until you get a successful resolution and another new iPad Pro sent to you.

You accepting Apple's wrong assumptions and your outright laziness not to do anything about this is not Apple's fault... it is yours!

You have rights as a customer!

Unless you like losing 1500 euros and have plenty of dispisable income and don't really mind or care about losing 1500 euros (I purchased a WiFi only, 128 GB iPad Pro and it cost me nearly $1200 U.S.D., quite a lot of money for me for an iPad), I would give calling Apple a shot and gives this a try to get another iPad Pro and not have to pay any money to get another replacement for a clearly defective iPad.

Don't be stupid and stubborn any longer.

CALL APPLE DIRECTLY AND GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED AND GET ANOTHER IPAD PRO BACK INTO YOUR HANDS!

Good Luck!

I Ended up buying a 9.7 inch ipad pro space grey that had a buzzing sound coming from its fingerprint reader area. It seems mostly a problem with the space grey units as display units with the white fronts (gold, RS, silver) at multiple stores didn't do it and even third party authorized retailers. I took it back (wasn't bent) they gave me a new one and it also buzzed but this one was bent on the camera side and had three pin ***** sized dents on the edge. Took it back and got another one. This one was bent also but not as bad and the store rep just said its how they are. I use using it without a case and it was bothering because I could feel it. This unit buzzed also. Finally fed up I ordered a 128gb space grey from the online store thinking it may get be newer stock. I receieved it in the mail and lucky me its perfectly straight, still a small buzzing but I will live with it. Took the old one back to the Apple Store they refunded me and gave me a silicone case for my troubles. I take it out of the case every now and then to check it and it's still straight luckily. Moral of the story they aren't suppose to be bent or concave and it seems Apples QC seems to get worse every year.

My iPad Pro was bent around the charger when I had it. I thought this was normal and started pushing the charger in to let it charge and when it stopped charging I went to apple Genius Bar in reading and they said it is a physical damage and I'm the reason it was bent around the charger. They asked for £290 to replace it or otherwise it can't be fixed. The ipad was well taken care of and it didn't fall or anything to get damaged from ny usage. Very frustrated!! Anyone else with bents in their iPad Pro??

Forget the store and the store employees

The Apple Stores' employees ARE NOT THE FINAL SAY!!!!

Call Apple 1-800-MYAPPLE.

You may get a completely different outcome.

Read my advice above!

You will be speaking directly to Apple employees DIRECTLY from Apple Headquarters in Cupertino, CA.

Call them!

You will get a different outcome if you explain CALMLY your situation!

Read my previous advice post above.

I've had exactly the same thing in my 128GB iPad Pro 9.7 Space Gray since I got it back in May, 2016. It has not been even the slightest issue and is only noticeable if you carefully sight down the side. In another year, people will be paying for the "curved screen" feature. If your bend is as slight as mine, I'd suggest ignoring it and just enjoying the machine. It's pretty stinking awesome. All prior iPads feel clunky by comparison. This one is so light I can easily read one-handed for extended periods. Not too surprising if they went right to the limit on structural choices to achieve this.

I have a new iPad Pro bought in October 2016 which developed a fault. Took it to Stormfront, Apple service agent in Exter UK. They called and said it was "bent" and they could not repair under warranty. It has been in a protective cover since Day 1. I have certainly not damaged it. I am sure this was just another warped iPad Pro. I shall certainly seek a replacement from Apple. Thanks for opening up this issue.
