can i still order a book via Aperture?

I understand that Aperture is no longer going to be supported by Apple. I have been working on a book in Aperture that's now ready to be ordered/printed. Can I still do that?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I'm afraid not. Apple sent out a warning to all people who ordered Aperture books last month, that the Print Services for Apple Print products will be stopped for Aperture and iPhoto at the end of March.

But try to order and tell us the result, please. Then we will know for certain, if it is over now.

You can always export the book project as a new Aperture Library and open this library in Photos for Mac and recreate the book in Photos. Only, Photos for Mac has different book themes and Photos does not support custom layouts for books. It is much more limited.

Hi Rentner!

Thank you so much for your feedback! Do you remember which paper you selected? I think you might really like our Photo Lustre option. Premium paper is almost a perfect match for what Apple offers but Lustre is even a notch above. As for text getting trimmed off - oh no! Will you let us know (via email at support@prestophoto.com or Live Chat) when you upload a future project? We'll be happy to double check it for you and give you the best advice possible on how to avoid that or fix it. 🙂

Thank you again for giving us a try, please let me know if I can help with anything else!!

You can still print your Aperture book with Apple. Its a matter of creating a PDF of your book in Aperture and then exporting each page as a JPEG. Then you create a book full of blank pages in Photos (the same size as the Aperture book) and then slide the JPEGs into the appropriate pages in the Photos book. It is a few extra steps, and can be a bit tricky at first. It takes about an hour and a half. If you have any issues (and if your like me, you will) Apple support was very helpful. The direct # to the Aperture/Photos help is 1-866-752-7753. I just purchased a book yesterday.
