My iphone does not connect to wifi after ios 9.3.1. Is there a fix available? Thanks, Karl.

So I went to the genius bar, and $300 later I now have a "new" iPhone. No fix. Just pay for a new phone if you want working wi-fi. Frustrating to say the least.

While the person assisting me was very polite and attentive, after resetting everything (a step I had already taken), he was left to conclude that my wi-fi problem must be a hardware problem. He even took my phone in the back to open it and look for water damage—something he oddly didn't tell me up front, only after he returned with the phone after going to get a "second opinion"—and found none. The problem must be a logic board "or something." Because my phone is out of warranty, Apple hung me out to dry. I could either pony up $299 for a "repair," which is simply trading for another phone (I assume this is a refurbished phone but the Apple associate could not tell me one way or another). I could also trade my phone in, for which I would receive about $200 credit and have to pay the $600 or so for a brand new iPhone with a one year warranty.

I say Apple has hung me out to dry because I can't think of any other way to describe it. This is a clear problem created by Apple. The associate would not agree with me that the software update caused this problem. He suggested that it must be coincidence. But in the nearly nine years of my iPhone use, I have never encountered this sort of issue. And it seems extremely coincidental that my wifi issues started immediately after updating the software. I went from my home office (where the router is at) after updating the software to my living room and noticed that my phone did not recognize my wifi network. In essence, I believe Apple ruined my phone, probably not deliberately, but its actions caused my phone to be ruined. I am left with data overages and $300 for an iPhone with a 90 day warranty.

As much as I've been a loyal Apple customer for 15 years, between the cheap phone and laptop charging cords that literally fall apart after a few months of normal, if not careful use, and now the mysterious software updates that totally turn my phone sideways, I'm starting to lose my patience. Not sure how long I will stick around, not that Apple gives a rip.

Well here's my take on it. I haven't had an issue on an iPhone 6 with previous updates, but was reading about them. That is until 9.3.1. I'm dropping wifi every 10 mins or so. Tried all the usual suspects and nothing. In the end I did a complete restore to new iPhone, used iCloud Keychain for passwords etc, I use chrome so that's all as it was after signing in, and all my email is either gmail or cloud based, and reinstalled all the apps. In actual fact I didn't lose anything other than the apps and layout which was the only time consuming bit getting right. Doing it all via a computer is a lot easier to reorganise the home screen. Not a hint of dropped wifi since, and it's better this way every once in a while and actually only took an hour or so to do. You'll all just have to grit your teeth and do this frankly since whatever's causing it is likely buried in the OS from previous updates. I've noticed the OS is smoother too so it's a win all round. Clean install ladies and gentlemen.

Yes I've now had it happen once so far since doing it this morning. Certainly better than every ten minutes but something's still not right. Off to Apple Store next. Mines still under warranty so will see. Mind you iOS 9.2 is already seeded so won't be long until its released. Maybe that's the fix if this is an iOS problem.

I am having this problem as well with iPhone 6 running 9.3.1. I have tried all of the fixes mentioned short of a total restore. I took off the case It have been using and instantly my bars went from 1 to 3 (all bars).... I'll run like this for a while and see what happens. I sure hope Apple can fix this with an update...

Well I've had the iphone 6 since launch and never had this issue until 9.3.1. I've used the Apple slim leather case on it since day one. There has been a lot of similar complaints about previous versions of iOS and each subsequent update was partly to address these very issues. Are we all iPhone 6 users? Is that the common denominator?

Yes me too, all my other devices work pefectly. Just seems its an ios problem with the iphone 6 primaraly.

Poor show from Apple who just keep there mouths shut when you even mention that it is an ios 9.3.1 issue.

I Guess the staff are not allowed to comment. Hey only 5 more months of this poor service then my contract is up.

in the mean time I have to use other equiptment to get a working product as customer care regarding this is pretty non existent.
